This is the “Pecan” tiny house trailer created by the Perch and Nest staff.
Outside, you’ll notice a compact 7.2 x 20 foot frame decorated with a beautiful metal roof and cedar shake siding. The cream trim provides a lovely contrast to the dark wood. It features tempered awning windows and close cell insulation to keep you warm during cool nights, and depending on your preferences, you can add heating and cooling.
Step inside and savor the clean, bright color scheme, with white horizontal pine plank walls and dark laminate wood flooring. A turquoise door adds a pop of color and leads you in and out of this adorable tiny space. It comes complete with two lofts – one for a queen bed and another for storage – which you can access with a removable handcrafted cedar ladder. The cozy couch nook lifts up for additional storage. In the kitchen, you’ll find a butcher block counter, mini refrigerator, and an induction cook top. A stool provides extra seating. The bathroom includes your choice of either a composting or dry flush toilet and a tankless electric water heater.

This is Emily’s tiny house on wheels. It’s called the Little Sunshine and the exterior was built by Trekker Trailers in Leesburg, Florida while Emily and her partner, Clark, finished the interior.
It’s built on a 24′ triple-axle trailer and it features a combination of metal and wood siding with a slightly slanted shed-style roof that increases spaciousness inside. You’ll also notice it has three different entrances/exits along with an elevated balcony near the loft. You can tell this is a really well thought out design. And yes, Emily designed it herself using SketchUp using the dimensions she was given by Andrew at Trekker Trailers.
When you go inside, you’ll find a beautiful living space with a kitchen, built-in floor storage, french doors, mini-split air conditioning, full bathroom with washer/dryer, sleeping loft, closet space, and more! Please enjoy, learn more, and re-share below. Thank you!

She calls this cozy, cute, and rustic creation which she spent the last 15 months fashioning, “My Empty Nest.”
The nest sits beside the trees surrounded by lawn, and on the outside, the home is encased in beautiful paneling. Step inside and you’ll be wowed by a tiled kitchen, exposed beams, a French door, full stove, retro refrigerator, and a loft featuring more reclaimed wood.

One of our readers sent me this commercial/advertising stunt which features three Italian grandmothers who travel in tiny homes on trailers to cook for lucky people and families they meet on the road on what they call a Sausage Sunday. It’s called The Sausage Nonnas – the World’s Most Elite Sausage Delivery Service.
The grandmothers seem funny, they have a great sense of humor, and the tiny homes look pretty spacious, too. This video seems to be a marketing partnership featuring tiny houses on wheels with the Italian Sausage company, Johnsonville and the popular driver service, Uber. What do you think? Funny? Not funny? All I can say is, they seem like a lot of fun to hang out with and I wish I was lucky enough to get to eat their Italian dishes! How about you? Watch the video below and let us know your thoughts.
Three Grandmothers Cooking Italian in Tiny Houses on Wheels
This tiny home on wheels was built by high school students in Berkeley, California during a design and construction youth program called Studio H.
Studio H is an academic class at REALM Charter High School led by a team of expert architects and builders, in which students explore a social issue through the design and construction of a full-scale project each year. This year, our students investigated public housing as an economic, social, aesthetic, and architectural challenge and built two tiny homes on 7’x16′ trailers. These micro homes required research, prototyping, modeling, material and budget constraints, and precise project management to complete within the academic year with 75+ high school students in 4 class periods each day. The proceeds from the sale of this home will go directly to the Studio H program to fund next year’s build project.1
