In this case Kanga Room Systems built this 14×14 studio cottage for a client who wanted craft space plus an area for their grandkids to play in while they’re over.
I can easily see how this tiny cabin can be turned into a tiny home though and that’s why I’m sharing it with you right now. Although tiny shelters can be used in many ways (like a studio, playhouse, office, or tiny guest room), I can’t help but think of how you can turn it into a space for full time simple living. In this case we would need a kitchenette, tiny bathroom, and probably an upstairs sleeping loft to make this tiny cottage a home.
How would you make this 14×14 tiny shelter your own? Please enjoy, re-share, and tell us your best thoughts in the comments below. Thank you!

Earlier this year I showed you Mad Men’s Vincent Kartheiser’s 603 sq. ft. modern vintage bungalow.
For a famous Hollywood person, he’s been living pretty small. And the property is located in the heart of Hollywood.
I think you’ll like looking at this little cottage because it has some interesting and unique space saving strategies, like a bed lift, for example.
Earlier this year Vincent listed the 603 sq. ft., 1 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home for sale with an asking price of $808,000.
According to Zillow, it sold on 10/16/14 for a price of $650,000. He had bought it for $547,000 10 year prior.
And just in case you haven’t seen it, go ahead and take the tour below. His home has some great space saving design ideas inside. And from the outside, it looks relatively ‘normal’. Please enjoy and re-share. Thank you.

Tiny houses aren’t just for living. They can also be for hobbies and careers too. That’s why this husband helped build a tiny writing cottage for his author wife.
She’s an author of several books and desperately needed space of her own to create a distraction-free environment from her family, dog, phone calls, and everything else that was interrupting her from her writing projects.
Lucky for her, her husband is an artist in his own right. A very talented carpenter. And he was willing to help her dreams come true as you’ll see below.

Hidden down a private path filled with lush greenery and trees you will find this cute cottage in Sausalito, California.
Featured on Apartment Therapy and winner of the Teeny Tiny division in the Small Cool Contest, Beth made this small cottage picture-worthy as you will see below.
Imagine being just 20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco in this cozy little cottage… Well, that’s home for Beth.
I think it’s such a gem. And she has decorated her cottage in a fun-artistic-bright way.
Beth says, “Being teeny-tiny is never about living small. It’s about making it work.”
As you tour through the cottage below you will see she has managed to bring so much to this small space.
I can not help but love the outdoor ‘Alice in Wonderland’ dining area which you can see below.

This is the story of a man who built his first tiny cottage on wheels. It has dormers and a covered front porch. It’s really nice, especially for his first build, don’t you think? I ran into this originally over at Reddit where the man’s son posts, “My dad’s first attempt at a tiny house, he’s pretty darn proud of it!”
So I wanted to share this creative tiny home on wheels with you here thinking it might inspire you and maybe even cause you to reconsider your future tiny/small house design? Who knows, right? I really like the dormers and the front porch on this house. This man must be a pretty good carpenter because I see a lot of attention to detail which gives the home a lot of character, don’t you think?

When it comes to living in tiny houses I think we can all agree that there’s more than just one way of doing it. And this tiny cabin with a deck and poolside cabana is just another example of what one can do with our own creativity. I’m calling it luxury tiny living.
Instead of struggling our entire lives to live in an oversized house with an oversized pool and oversized interior air conditioned space (filled with too much low quality stuff)… We’re just saying… Why not something like this?
Something smaller, smarter, more affordable, but still really nice? This way maybe we can actually have more time to spend however we’d like to spend it. Maybe we can spend it using and appreciating what we do have, right? How would your life be different living simply?

I thought you might also enjoy this 510 sq. ft. beachfront tiny cottage that was originally built in the 1920s. Later it was somewhat abandoned for a few years so the new owners gave it a complete restoration while leaving it as original as possible.
Some of the unique features for this small beachfront cottage include clapboard siding, a stone chimney, an amazing porch, open floor plan, handmade furniture, and more (see below).
