If the name Vincent Kartheiser doesn’t ring a bell he’s a star actor in the TV series Mad Men.

And what’s interesting about him is that he chooses to live in a 580 sq. ft. tiny cabin in Hollywood with his fiancée.

It was remodeled to look “Japanese-industrial” as he calls it and has a few pretty unique space saving features.

For instance, instead of a murphy bed, his bed simply raises to the ceiling when it’s not being used.

When he wants privacy in the bedroom a large thick red curtain is available to enclose the space in. It’s stored in the built in wooden closet that you can see in the photo above to the left of the bed in the corner of the room. You can also see the railing on the ceiling for the curtain.

I encourage you to enjoy the rest of this article below:

Another unique part about Vincent’s cabin is his bathroom/shower. It’s open but can be enclosed for privacy by sliding the shoju-like screen doors which cover the closet space. See below:

There’s even a second bathroom which kind of surprised me. That goes to show you how well designed it is by Funn Roberts (the designer).

Outside there’s a private courtyard with a covered seating area and a fire pit to gather around.

Funn Roberts did an amazing job of maximizing every square inch of this place. I encourage you to take the complete photo tour over at Dwell right here.
