Shawn Dehner over at The Small House Catalog released this 440 sq. ft. backyard cottage design (and plans). It’s called The Forest-Rose Cottage. And framing plans are available if you’re interested.
So I wanted to be sure to share that with you right now. You can see the sketch and overall design below. And the link to download the full plans are also below. It’s a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom house with two floors. The first floor is 240 sq. ft. and the upstairs has 200 sq. ft. The overall dimensions of the structure is 12′ x 20′.
Later on, in 2015, there will be photos of the actual build that we can all see. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
But for now, we have a 3D sketch of what it will look like. Even better, Shawn and his client have made the plans available for us to download too if you want them.
Right now I want to give you a tour of a wonderful little cottage called the Rolling Bungalow. Best of all, if you really like it, you can buy the plans to build it yourself.
If you do all of the labor yourself it costs an estimated $17,000 (in 2014 dollars) to build. And you can do so on a 7’x20′ trailer. In total there’s 160 sq. ft. of living space inside without including the sleeping lofts. And the overall footprint is 8’6″ x 20′. I hope you enjoy the tour as much as I have. And if you really like it, you can even get the plans too! Please re-share and enjoy below.
