Joey’s story isn’t one you’d expect — he nailed the “dream job” of working in mechanical and biomedical engineering for the FBI in Washington, D.C. — and then realized it wasn’t for him! He got a different job working as a software engineer that ended up going remote in 2020 — and before he knew it, Joey was buying and converting a van.
He’s lived in the van you’ll see below for three years on and off. In the “off” time, he’s been backpacking around the world, living even more simply than he does in his rig. He designed it to stand up to all kinds of weather, and just wait until you see the neat way he included a shower, closet, and pantry into his home on wheels.

Craig and Tanya are enjoying their midlife years in their Sprinter van conversion. They have a unique cork ceiling and fabric-covered plywood panels to absorb lots of sound inside the van.
They didn’t want to tear down and put up a bed, so they have a stationary one, as well as a convertible couch/eating area. Bamboo cabinets and multiple cooking options keep their kitchen set-up dynamic. What do you think?

Alexia and Lorenzo have been married for 18 years and decided to switch things up and downsize from a 2,000-square-foot home into a van. At first, they had an old-fashioned Westy, but it broke down just over the U.S. border. Their Sprinter has been far better for their off-roading adventures.
While this tour is of their van, Instagram shows they recently sold it and upgraded into an Overlander! Can’t wait to see that conversion as well. What do you think of this van setup?

Ellie was working day and night in DC, wishing and waiting for the day she could travel again. She grew up overseas and couldn’t help but feel that wanderlust.
After five years of saving and a couple months building out her 2005 Sprinter, she and her cat, Moose, hit the road. Moose is the coolest cat because he goes kayaking and hiking with Ellie! While she occasionally misses the conveniences of city life, she wouldn’t trade them for the freedom she has!
Plus, she lives in a stunning van complete with live-edge countertops and an L-shaped kitchen. Don’t miss Tiny Home Tour’s video interview with Ellie (and Moose) below.

Courtney and James (@drivingdeedee) didn’t know anything about construction or outfitting a van when they purchased their awesome orange Sprinter, but that didn’t stop them from spending 18 months creating an awesome home on wheels so they could travel Europe.
Besides the lovely and unusual exterior color, the inside features a wet bath, a kitchen with a mini fridge and stowable cooktop, and a dinette that turns into their queen-sized bed. The interior looks just as autumnal as the outside, and you can tell lots of sweat and love went into this build.
Watch the great video from FLORB below, where you’ll hear all about the mistakes they made and how they’re enjoying life on the road.

Meet Megan: She’s a CPA who works full-time with small businesses, and she lives in a Mercedes Sprinter Van named “Avo” (short for “Avocado”). She found the van on Craigslist and outfitted it with help from Heartwood Custom Vans (@heartwoodcustomvans on Instagram). The van is black on the outside and green on the inside and, it is actually her second van.
Previously she shared a van with a partner, and now that she has her own space she really made it “home,” which you can tell from all the thoughtful details. Thank you to Allison of Tiny Home Tours for the awesome video tour of Megan’s van you can enjoy below.
