It was built by one of our readers in two and a half months with the help of friends and the total cost was about €30,000, which converts to about $33,979 in USD. This includes the outdoor construction modifications too. Inside the ground floor, you’ll find the living room, kitchen, dining, and full kitchen. There’s also storage here. This is a shipping container skyscraper concept in Mumbai, India designed by Ganti Associates.
The idea is to create an adequate housing solution for people of the densely populated Dharavi area, which is one of the largest slums in the world.
The design of the high-rise structure is proposed to be approximately 32 stories high and each apartment consists of 3 standard size 320 sq. ft. (40’ long x 8’6” high x 8’ wide) shipping containers. Pretty amazing, right?
