I had to show you this modern prefab home designed by Stillwater Dwellings even though it’s hardly ‘small’ to people like you and me and definitely not ‘tiny’.

At 1100 sq. ft., it’s plenty spacious for most of us. But maybe if you’re raising a family, planning to, or just living with others this amount of space might be just right. You might need less, you might even need more; only you know. Either way I thought it was well done and worth looking at and gathering inspiration from.

What I love about this one is that unlike many of today’s houses, it doesn’t have two living rooms and a whole lot of other unused/wasted space.

Inside there are two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, and a large kitchen. The entry way is spacious- with a closet- which helps keep everyone’s shoes and coats at bay. Please enjoy the tour below and let me know your thoughts in the comments if you’d like to.

I first showed you this cabin back in 2014 when I first discovered it. Now it’s 2020 and the design seems very relevant. It’s a Kanga cabin and it’s perfectly designed for a live/work lifestyle. The sort of lifestyle that many of us are now living in because of quarantine and covid-19.

I’m excited to share this 504 sq. ft. modern cabin by Kanga Room Systems with you. I know. It’s not exactly tiny (maybe to some of you) but it’s most certainly small. And I’m not sure about you, but to me, something like this would be an absolutely perfect long-term solution. The home consists of two units with a 10′ covered breezeway/porch/outdoor living area connecting the two units.

A 14’x20′ (280 sq. ft.) unit gives you your living area and kitchen while another 14’x16′ unit (224 sq. ft.) features your bedroom, bathroom, and utility closet. Pretty cool, right? And if you don’t like ladders staircases it’s perfect because there are no sleeping lofts. It’s a one-level design.

If you live and work from home and share your home with loved ones, this is absolutely perfect because you have a separate structure for peace and quiet while your significant other can use the other area as they wish without distracting you during periods of focus and concentration. Please enjoy, let me know how you like it in the comments and re-share below!

Back in September of 2010 I featured something called a Swiss Room Box which turns your current car or van into a camper instantly.

So it’s basically a kit that turns your current vehicle into a micro motorhome with features similar to that of teardrop campers I’ve shown you.

If you were to order it you’d be able to install it in your car within 10 minutes. Once it’s installed it takes about 3-5 minutes to set up and start using on a campsite or wherever you might be. It’s a lot faster than tent camping and so much more affordable than motorhomes or travel trailers. And the Swiss Room Box gives you space for cooking, eating, sleeping, and even showering.

Here’s a really nice caravan tiny house by So Cal Cottages. (Update: It looks like they’re no longer producing tiny homes)

It has french doors in the front with a covered porch area over the hitch of the trailer.

Inside there’s a downstairs sleeping area (no upstairs sleeping loft) so it’s a single level tiny house.

This is great for those of you who do not like the idea of using a ladder to get to and from your bed.

You’ll also find a dining table, storage nooks, full bathroom and kitchen inside.

This custom built modular prefab home has the most amazing windows I think you will enjoy.

Built in 2003 for approximately $60,000 by Geoffrey Warner and his team.

A humble little abode is where a violinist of the Minnesota Orchestra finds a peaceful off-grid retreat with her family.

The Mini Mod is a 279 sq. ft. prefab tiny house.

It’s designed for modern off-grid living and consists of four modules:

Your bedroom, living room, dining area, and bathroom – all on one level (no lofts).

Parts of the areas can be closed off for privacy or opened up for a more spacious feeling that brings the outdoors in.

Pine plywood, treated recycled wood, and large glass windows surround you while you’re inside.

If you like tiny homes on foundations then the SOLETA might interest you.

It’s a zero energy tiny house created by Catalin Butmalai of the Justin Capra Foundation for Invention in Romania.

The house is on display at the United States Embassy in Bucharest.

Not only does it power itself thanks to solar and wind, but it can also be managed with your smartphone.

It’s 48 square meters downstairs and 9 square meters up in the loft.

That translates to 516 square feet downstairs and 96 square feet upstairs.

So 612 square feet in total living space without including the outside deck space.

This off grid modern solar house in California isn’t tiny or even that small… But since it’s 100% off the grid I thought it was a smart enough design to include here.

At 1200 sq. ft. it would make a great home for a family or person who spends lots of time at home. It’s called the IT HOUSE and is made of glass and metal in the middle of the beautiful desert landscape in Pioneertown, California. The design system used to build this house was created by Taalman Koch.
