This 950 sq. ft. small house was designed for a family by Rusafova Markulis Architects.

It’s called The Blue House and was created specifically for their clients needs.

Since the home is inspired by Japanese aesthetics it has a simple and elegant design, look, and feel.

It was completed in June of 2013 and photographed by Jennifer Coates.

I don’t have the exact details of this modern Japanese home for you but it seems relatively small.

I’d guess it’s about 800 sq. ft. or so but I’m not sure. What I really thought you’d find interesting is:

  • The “Smart” Toilet (it even cleans itself)
  • Space Saving Cabinets (genius cabinet design)
  • The Overall Japanese Style (you’ll see)

A 200-year old townhouse in the historic Leiden, Netherlands lands a make-over and is turned into a modern minimalist home with history.

The original structure remains the same while the interior has been stripped and re-vamped with multifunctional furniture and a twisting staircase to get to each of the three levels.

Total square footage on this 17th-century neatly stacked townhouse is 807 square feet.

Wooden furniture is built-in on each level to provide storage, seating, desk, lounge areas, bedding, and more.

This open plan three story townhouse is functional, yet simple, which keeps the house’s original character.

I wanted to show you these modern micro shelters built out of Sydney, Australia.

They can be used in combination to create a community of micro homes.

Or they can be creatively used to create your own tiny housing compound.

In this situation you might have 1-3 structures total to make up your home.

For example you can use one for living and sleeping, another for working and a third for bathing.

This custom built modular prefab home has the most amazing windows I think you will enjoy.

Built in 2003 for approximately $60,000 by Geoffrey Warner and his team.

A humble little abode is where a violinist of the Minnesota Orchestra finds a peaceful off-grid retreat with her family.

I’m excited to get to show you Andrew and Gabriella Morrison’s mortgage-free modern tiny house on wheels.

They’ve recently finished building it and I think you’ll find it’s very functional, spacious, modern, and unique.

I’ve also been lucky enough to get to interview the couple for you so we can all learn more about how and why they did it.

In the interview you’ll find out how much it cost them, how long it took to design and build, find out dimensions, square footages, and more.

You’ll also get to see their completed tiny home below along with the rest of the details on it in the interview below:

I thought you might like this 484 sq. ft. studio house by Alex Nogueira.

It’s a modern design that I see working well as a standalone tiny home (as shown) or as micro apartments.

But this modern tiny cabin is one-of-a-kind and located in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.

A large sliding glass door takes up almost the entire rear wall of the home as you can see below.

In the front of the house, however, it’s not so open. It’s actually very private.. See below:
