This is one of the most amazing tiny homes I’ve ever seen. I think you’ll be really impressed once you see what it’s like inside.
Inside this little cottage on wheels, you’ll find everything you want from home… A 28″ flat screen TV, washer/dryer, kitchen with large sink, staircase to the loft, and lots of windows and natural light throughout. All for under $20k.
Great work Peter, Shannon, Peter’s Dad, (and their friends, family, and building team). This is yet another amazing example of what you can do with your own custom tiny house project with enough dedication and good old fashion hard work.

When Chris and Malissa Tack built their 140-square foot tiny home on wheels three years ago, blogs and resources on the subject were few and far between. At the time, they only knew of one couple building a tiny house – most were single individuals. Some people aren’t sure they could share a small space with another person, but Chris and Malissa have made it work, and even enjoyed the way it’s shaped their relationship.
They both need to spend significant time at home – Malissa works from home full-time, and Chris does freelance photography and videography in his spare time. They both know their way around little house design, having created two sets of plans for tiny homes and a wide variety of 3-D renderings of small space layouts. They found they needed to make a few adjustments to their behavior and to their original space design to make it work as a live/work/work space for two people, but now they don’t feel constrained by their home’s size.

Would you ever consider living in a 160 square foot home? It seems too small for comfort, right? Well, one couple has been choosing to live in just that amount of space right in their own backyard!
Mike and Laura decided to build this tiny home in their backyard, renting out the main house for extra income. Yes, the home is extremely small, but every inch of space is functional. And the home is designed to appear open and roomier. They are able to comfortably cook, eat, sleep and bathe–and here’s the best part–it only takes 15 minutes to clean the entire home! It’s even got its own deck off the living area.

When Alaska experienced an economic downturn there were lots of lost jobs and homes. In 2010 the opportunity came for this couple to buy a plot of land outside of Fairbanks. So they did.
Since they had a small land payment they decided to start building their own tiny home of about 264 sq. ft. (12×16) little by little without a mortgage. In fact, one of the first things they did was pitch a tent and start the building process.
After two years they decided to expand the cottage to about 520 sq. ft. Today it boasts a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living area. It took them about two years to build and around $20,000 in costs. All of the hard work is paying off for the couple since today they live mortgage-free and rent-free. And they can be proud of what they built.
