Stefan first bought a van for his band to use for traveling to gigs, but when the band broke up, Stefan was already hooked on vanlife! The algorithm started showing him more people living in vehicles and he realized a shuttle bus would give him more of the space he wanted, so he upgraded!

Amazingly, he created the home you see below for just $16K. It has a rooftop deck and a decent solar array, and the interior fits his queen-sized bed and an awesome micro studio, so he can make music wherever he is. Like so many other nomadic folks, he turned his would-be bathroom into a closet for more storage. Let us know what your favorite feature is below!

Josie is an amazing woman who took on the challenge of ever-increasing rent prices in Kent, England, and built herself a shuttle bus home — even without any previous DIY experience! You’d never know she was inexperienced with power tools by looking at the finished product. It’s cozy, creative and adorable.

Right now, Josie lives in her bus home while working as a dancer on the West End, but she has plans to jump into full-time bus life in Spring 2024! We had the privilege of interviewing Josie, so please check out her story below, and follow her on social media for updates.

Kae and Alex were living in an apartment, thinking bus life might happen for them someday when they had more money. Instead, it took losing everything to push them into nomadic life! While it took them 5 years to make the bus what it is today, the results of their hard work are incredible.

Bus life isn’t always easy, that’s for sure! They recently lived in their tent for seven weeks while the bus underwent necessary repairs. Overall, they still love living in their bus named Tree. Read our interview with them below!

Nick began his nomadic life after he got a remote job and sold his dog daycare. He already owned a truck, so he purchased a cheap 50-year-old truck camper, put it on his vehicle, and hit the road! After seven months of living with that set-up, he had a good idea of what he wanted in a more permanent rig—and that’s what led to the epic shuttle bus you’ll see below!

His skoolie feels like a cozy cabin inside, mainly due to the milled 4x4s he used to panel the interior. There’s a lovely variation in the wood tons, which adds tons of character. He has an outdoor shower, indoor toilet, chest fridge/freezer (for ice cream), and many unique accommodations for his blind dog, Narlie. Enjoy the tour below!

Emily and Josh were both working jobs that kept them apart, and then driving to see each other on the weekends. They’d save up PTO to travel for a few weeks during the “off-season” and wish they could do it full-time. When 2020 changed their career trajectories, they were finally able to consider living nomadically full-time!

It took about two years for them to complete their skoolie conversion, and they spent the second year living in it while finishing the interior. You can read more about what led them to go tiny and how they feel about nomadic life below!

While Gordo’s epic skoolie conversion might look ready to take on the zombie apocalypse, he has no intentions of using it to survive the end of days. Instead, he built the adventure rig as a passion project, and uses it to travel on vacations or transport the many tools that he has stored on the back deck.

The first thing he did with the school bus he bought at auction was to slice off the back half and build an intricate metal deck/roof rack. That only took about a month, but the interior finishes took about 2 years to complete. You’re going to love the video tour below, where he shows off all the incredible details of his space.

Jamie lost her husband 17 years ago and raised her daughters on her own. About six years of that time they spent on a homestead with horses and dairy goats! But when her youngest got engaged, she decided it was time to do something for herself and see the country.

While she tried to work remotely when she first hit the road, she felt like it was taking away from her really enjoying her travels, so she’s been living off the sale of her home for now. She has plans to travel across Canada next and end up in Alaska where one of her daughters lives now.
