Jack and Jon were staring down more than $100,000 in student loan debt when they decided that a conventional mortgage wasn’t the answer — so they had a 30-foot gooseneck tiny house professionally built instead, nicknamed it the “Wee Hive,” and parked it at the Acony Bell Tiny Home Community in North Carolina. At roughly 240 square feet, it still makes room for a dedicated work-from-home office, a full bathroom with a tub, and a main-floor gooseneck bedroom with eight feet of headroom, and the drop in monthly housing costs is what lets them attack that debt in a fraction of the usual time. Enjoy the tour below.

A Living Room That Doubles as a Gallery
The entertainment center is the anchor of the living space, and it pulls double duty: when the TV is off, the screen displays artwork instead of a black rectangle. It is a small choice that matters a lot in a tiny house, where a single dark surface can dominate the room. Built-in storage below keeps the floor clear, which is what makes an 8-foot-wide room feel like a place you can actually relax in.

A Full-Time Home Office Built Into the Floor Plan
Jack works his full-time job from this plant-filled corner, and it is one of the smartest things about the layout. Rather than folding a laptop onto the dining table, the office got its own dedicated zone with a real desk, task lighting, and a window — the three things that separate a workable remote setup from a temporary one. If you are planning a tiny house and you work from home, designing the office in from day one is far easier than carving it out later.

What Makes This Build Special
- The gooseneck earns its keep. Trading a ladder-access loft for a main-floor bedroom with standing-height clearance is the single biggest livability upgrade available in a house this size.
- The office is not an afterthought. Because the desk zone was planned rather than improvised, the home supports a full-time remote job without the living room becoming a workplace.
- Full-size appliances, tiny footprint. A dishwasher and a real oven are the first things cut from most tiny builds — keeping them is what makes this feel like a home instead of a camper.
- Community solves the parking problem. Placing the house in an established tiny home community means legal parking, utility hookups, and neighbors, which is often the hardest part of going tiny.
- The math is the point. Lower housing costs are what convert a tiny house from a lifestyle choice into a debt-payoff strategy.

So much I like here! — mostly what a great tiny place to live! The decor I surely like esp with the plants, and would only configure to include more pantry space!! Otherwise — very nice!!
