Meet B.A. Norrgard. She’s a woman who attended a Four Lights Tiny House Workshop in February of 2013. After the event, she bought the Gifford tiny house plans and started building.

Five months later, her little house on wheels is complete. And now she’s been hired as COO to work with Jay Shafer and the rest of his Four Lights Tiny House Company team in California. Now that’s a pretty awesome story, isn’t it?

Once upon a time she was a litigation paralegal. And she desired a change. Now she’s helping others simplify their lives to live more purposeful lives. Just like she’s doing. Jay Shafer is calling her a “tiny house superhero.” And right now I just felt I had to introduce you to her. So, please, take a video tour of her new tiny house below, enjoy, and re-share if you feel compelled to!

I had to show you this modern prefab home designed by Stillwater Dwellings even though it’s hardly ‘small’ to people like you and me and definitely not ‘tiny’.

At 1100 sq. ft., it’s plenty spacious for most of us. But maybe if you’re raising a family, planning to, or just living with others this amount of space might be just right. You might need less, you might even need more; only you know. Either way I thought it was well done and worth looking at and gathering inspiration from.

What I love about this one is that unlike many of today’s houses, it doesn’t have two living rooms and a whole lot of other unused/wasted space.

Inside there are two bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room, and a large kitchen. The entry way is spacious- with a closet- which helps keep everyone’s shoes and coats at bay. Please enjoy the tour below and let me know your thoughts in the comments if you’d like to.

If you’re ever looking for a place to stay in Colorado Springs this Victorian style little yellow cottage might be just the right place. I think this might make for a great little anniversary celebration getaway, too.

It’s so much better than a hotel, and you can get a taste of the small house lifestyle in this beautiful little bungalow. It’s a one-level floor plan with a porch and outdoor furniture for your enjoyment outside.

Originally built in 1909, according to the vacation rental listing over at HomeAway, and recently remodeled with inspiration from Paris. Please enjoy!

I’m not sure about you but here’s something I’ve never really thought of… Billboard tiny houses.

A Slovakian firm called DesignDevelop has created a triangular tiny house design on stilts that can be used in conjunction with a billboard ad as housing for the homeless. Right now it’s called The Gregory Project.

And like me, I think you’ll be surprised as to how nice the interior design of these units might be. Inside you’ll find a loft bed with storage, a bathroom, kitchen, and desk space too. Enjoy and re-share below.

If you’ve been wondering how long does it take to build a tiny house on wheels, you’re at the right place.

I received a question from a reader (you can read it entirely below) who was also wondering how long it takes to build tiny, and I thought you might be wondering the same thing. So why not answer it right here on a public blog post and open the topic up to discussion in the comments?

This is a great question and there’s obviously not just one answer because it largely depends on your situation. Like what you want in the house, how detail oriented you are, how much learning you have to do, and more…

Like whether or not you want to take the extra time to find reclaimed materials like a used trailer that needs to be refurbished. Or if you want to harvest your own wood and need to find the time and resources to mill it.

This question also largely depends on not only how much construction experience you already have and who might be available to help you but also on how much time you are able to dedicate to the project every week. Let’s dive deeper and get your question answered below.

This tiny cottage built for $11k is a guest post by Dominique Poulin

We recently built this tiny cottage with help from family and friends in Saint-Andre- Avellin, Quebec, Canada for 11k. We were lucky to have a neighbor mill all the exterior wood from our very own trees! The interior is not quite finished but we are getting there.

We plan to remain off-grid and install solar in the coming year as well as build a well. We have about 60 acres of land, and are planning to build more tiny cottages.

Hi Alex (and Tiny House Newsletter readers), I wanted to share our tiny home pics with you.

Although we really love our tiny home, it isn’t in the ideal location for our little family.

So this tiny home is for sale, the details are at the bottom.

My husband Brian built this with the help of our good friend Gabe.
