Is it a shipping container converted into a modern small house? Nope, it’s a 550 sq. ft. modern prefabricated house located in Alicante, Spain.
Combining the collaborated efforts of architect, Daniel Martí i Pérez of DMP Arquitectura and designers, Jurgen Van Weereld and Karin Giesberts, they created and built this house.
They decided to build this prototype prefab house to test their ideas for more sustainable and affordable housing. By using light weight prefabricated panels they help speed up the construction process by not having to use heavy equipment or tons of labor.
To keep cost low they went with a rectangular shaped house which at first I thought it was a shipping container.
In this small space they managed to fit a master bedroom, second room/study, bathroom and kitchen. With of course plenty of outdoor space for hanging out or dining al fresco.

A dream come true for any tiny home aficionado, this 269 Sq. Ft. home named HUS-1 by architect Torsten Ottesjö’s is situated on the Swedish Coast and looks as though it actually grew from the ground. Ottesjö’s vision was to keep the small home just that… small! Not just for cost of building or heating it, but because he believes smaller spaces are actually superior for creatures of a human’s size.
Ottesjö designed and built the Hus-1 with a skeleton of bent, arching wood more reminiscent of a sailboat’s hull which gives the effect of a designer hobbit hole and/or a wooden bathtub that you just want to sink into after a long day. This curved tiny home only features windows on each end of the structure and is a pretty tight fit when you’re actually inside the leaf shaped quarters. Tight fit or not, the lush surrounding landscape more than makes up for it. What do you think?

In June 2014, Shelley and Joshua, a young couple from Northern California decided to drastically downsize their lives and with a custom built tiny house on wheels. Just recently their tiny home and story was featured in Issue 27 of the Tiny House Magazine.
Their 224 sq. ft. home is now a marvel to see and features a main room, kitchen with plenty of counter space (which includes an espresso bar) and floating stairs that bring you up to their loft bedroom. The home also features a bathroom with a full walk-in shower and a washer/dryer combo unit. Nice, right? Well, wait until you see it!
The exterior has a portable deck and storage area to keep the items that can’t fit into their tiny living quarters safe. One of my favorite parts is the outdoor bar area, which sits 6-8 people! The bar was designed to be folded down during transit and is really a great focal point, not to mention amazing for entertaining.
Even though the tiny home seems like it’s completely finished, the couple stresses that they still have some modifications and additions to make. Whether complete or not, this tiny house on wheels is pretty spectacular. Please enjoy and re-share below. Thank you.

Are you interested in living off the grid? It can be challenging to provide for your own needs for energy, water and other resources, but for John Wells, it’s preferable to the challenge of working a traditional job so he can buy those resources from someone else.
John has received plenty of press, from Lloyd Kahn’s “Tiny Homes, Simple Shelter” to a 2011 New York Times Profile, for moving from upstate New York to the Texas desert to build an off-grid, 128-square foot home, and then blogging about it daily for years. I visited him personally to understand more about how he made that transition, and what makes an off-grid life work.
John felt the land he bought in Southwest Texas was so cheap that his off-grid experiment didn’t agree with him, he could quit without losing much. Living in a little house works for him partially because most of his life takes place outside. When his bills and mortgage were more than he could handle in New York, he rented his house to summer vacationers and moved into a travel trailer in his backyard. That experience helped him see home as a small place to relax after a day of activity.

I’m excited to share these man cave tiny houses and bars on wheels with you by Wade Heyl in Houma, Louisiana. He’s starting a tiny house business called Manstrocity that specializes in man caves built from sinker cypress that was cut down over 150 years ago and reclaimed cypress that comes from homes that were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Pretty cool, right?
This is the first tiny house that Wade built thanks to some help of friends and family too. It’s really a portable tavern which he plans on using to advertise his business. But when you go inside you’ll be able to find an upstairs queen size sleeping loft and a bathroom with toilet and even a custom keg urinal! So the possibilities are endless.
This custom tiny house on wheels (or I guess I should say… tiny tavern on wheels) also has TVs, premium sound system, and much more. If you like Wade’s work pretty soon he’ll be ready to take orders and right now I’m excited to help spread the word about what he’s doing. So please enjoy Wade’s tiny tavern tour below, visit his Facebook Page, and if you’d like to re-share it below. Thank you!

This adorable tiny home in the middle of Stockholm is secluded away in a small courtyard, perfect for entertaining guests.
Like the outside, the inside of this 300 sq. ft. home is quaint and features classic subway tiles and cool grey cabinets. The home is bright and clean which allows for the small space to feel roomy and airy.
The bottom floor of this tiny home features the kitchen, bathroom and living area. Then you can take the rustic staircase up to the second floor, where you’ll find the bedroom which is roomy enough to fit a bed, a small accent chair and TV console. The bedroom, like the first floor feels light and airy due to two skylights.

Landscaper James Lawler converted the back of his Toyota Prius into one of the tiniest of mobile homes of all time for one. And it’s a hybrid, too! He built it using scraps he scavenged and reclaimed himself. All in all, the tiny home cost Lawler about $150 and took him one week to build.
Complete with a tin roof, chimney, and stained-glass window, the DIY hybrid “motorhome” was used as Lawler’s sleeping quarters for the Meredith Music Festival in Victoria. While others were forced to “rough it” outside in tents, Lawler enjoyed his home on wheels saying, “it’s quite well insulated in there and more comfortable than a tent.”
Although Lawler did get fined by local police, he stands by the fact that the tiny mobile home is roadworthy and safe. His creation is due to come down at some point, however, Lawler has a new plan for a caravan that is a bit more watertight. And we can’t wait to see it!
