The goal is for the village to help residents become self-sufficient through the offerings at the village. It’s located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Currently, they are not accepting new applicants until March 1, 2021. According to their website, there is already an extensive resident waiting list.

Paola and her husband downsized in 2012 from a 5 bedroom home in Rome to a quaint country cottage in Cambridge with two bedrooms. She has no regrets except that it took her until her 40s to choose a little home!

This steel-frame tiny house in Palmetto, Florida was built in 2017 and features all kinds of luxuries, including a rock-climbing wall on the back of the THOW!
The home is 28.5 feet long with two lofts: one (the master) has a lower platform so you can stand upright and get dressed — a very nice feature that’s often overlooked in tiny house loft design.
The kitchen has a deep farmhouse sink and a large refrigerator, and the bathroom features a full-sized walk-in shower. This craftsman-style build demonstrates what’s achievable when quality materials meet smart tiny house design.

Here’s The Cathouse, built by Movable Roots as a custom creation for a couple and their four cats. This house has one of the most unusual layouts I’ve seen, complete with a sneaky back bathroom well-separated from the living and kitchen area for privacy.
The home features a wind-sensitive awning that retracts when gusts get bad, and a shed-style roof. You’ll walk into the living area where there’s room for comfortable chairs or a sofa, and then turn right into the stunning kitchen. Just wait until you see the color of the cabinets!

Shaunnan & Faith thought they might van life for a while and then find some land to homestead on, but after experiencing the amazing community in the van world, they’ve decided they may do it for far longer than they’d first planned.
Their Dodge Sprinter features a large (for a van) kitchen, complete with a fridge and freezer, and a nice, deep sink for washing cast iron pans. I really love the back of this van, because they did something somewhat unique with a couch-to-bed system that includes a roll-out table extender.

Five Months of Part-Time Van Adventuring

While plenty of people choose vanlife to escape their 9 to 5 jobs, Brenda is finding a way to blend the best of both worlds. She works remotely for her desk job, and enjoys traveling in her boho van conversion named, “Copper.”
The inside of her home hardly feels like a van. It’s so light and tropical, with an entire wrap-around shelf filled with terra cotta pots and plants! She lives in there with her dog, Ranger, and they enjoy hikes wherever she goes.
She was able to complete the build with her dad, while both of them worked full-time, in just 42 days. Amazing! See the full tour with Tiny Home Tours at the end of the post.
