Roman & Ioana got started on their minimalist journey simply doing weekend caravan trips. Soon that turned into van-life-ing it across Europe. After all that, they wanted to continue living small and decided to build their own tiny house!

They focused on making it a sustainable, off-grid home that’s good for them and for the environment! This endeavor even made them start up a small business to help others build their tinies as well — so awesome. Oh, and did I mention they have no mortgage?

Thanks to James D. for sharing this with us! You can follow the couple on Instagram here.

Paola and her husband downsized in 2012 from a 5 bedroom home in Rome to a quaint country cottage in Cambridge with two bedrooms. She has no regrets except that it took her until her 40s to choose a little home!

Her Instagram stole my attention right away, with her cozy shabby chic decor that immediately makes me feel warm! I reached out and she shared pictures of her little house, along with answers to our Q&A about how she spends half as much on bills since making the transition.

Enjoy a photo tour of her fairytale cottage and be sure to read our interview with her below! Follow her on Instagram here.

This steel-frame tiny house in Palmetto, Florida was built in 2017 and features all kinds of luxuries, including a rock-climbing wall on the back of the THOW!

The home is 28.5 feet long with two lofts: one (the master) has a lower platform so you can stand upright and get dressed — a very nice feature that’s often overlooked in tiny house loft design.

The kitchen has a deep farmhouse sink and a large refrigerator, and the bathroom features a full-sized walk-in shower. This craftsman-style build demonstrates what’s achievable when quality materials meet smart tiny house design.
