“Why pay someone else to do something when you could learn to do it yourself and have that skill forever?” Tyler of the Broken Compass Bus heard that quote from a #buslifer when he and his wife, Raela, first began their bus build-out, and he took it to heart. From electrical to plumbing to woodworking, he learned everything he could from YouTube to create their amazing home.
Tyler is also a traveling musician, which between Raela’s travel agent work, pays their on-the-road bills. It’s a huge upgrade from the time that he worked 6 days a week, just waiting for one day to enjoy himself before going back to the grind. Enjoy their bus tour below!

Michael decided to sell his big house in Tennessee and use the equity to buy his very own tiny house to take with him on his US travels. He found this awesome 18 foot Firefly from Little Homes of Texas and prettied it up with an awning, shutters, fold-up deck and more.
His home has a downstairs bedroom, compact bed and galley kitchen. It only weighs 3,800, meaning he can take it just about anywhere he’s wanted to travel since he hit the road in July! Read his story after the photo tour below.

This is a review of the Jackery 1500 lithium power station with 4 SolarSaga 100W panels.
I’ve used it to charge my electric bicycle even while on the road, for running a fan outside under a picnic table while charging my laptop, camera, drone, and smartphone too. But those are just little things. The Jackery 1500 is capable of much more, with 1800w output power, it can handle up to 7 appliances at once, including powering a full-size refrigerator with freezer and icemaker with ease just about all day long. It’s pretty incredible. Not to mention, very quiet for a generator. And you can run it indoors.
The best part, with the solar panels I can charge it up using the sun even if I’m in an off-grid location. It’s a pretty good feeling and I’m looking forward to having it in hand during storm outages, hurricane outages, road trips, and for keeping all of my electronics charged up anywhere I may be.

This is to let you know that Jackery’s 9th-anniversary sale is coming up. If you’ve been wanting to get a portable solar generator, portable power bank, portable solar panels, this is the best time to get them.
From October 18-20, 2021, you can get 15% off all of their products. That means a $419 discount on a Jackery 1500 Solar Generator with 4 100-watt solar panels, as one example. Which Jackery are you thinking of getting?
Personally, I’m considering their Explorer 160 since it weighs less than 4lbs it’s something I can easily throw in a bag and use on the go. It’s also relatively inexpensive. Their 300 unit has more to offer and weighs in at about 7 lbs. Which one are you thinking of? For more serious needs like van life, boat life, camping, cabin life, tiny life, or even for everyday life, I would consider the Solar Generator 1500, 1000, or 500.

This is a truly unique vacation treehouse! Not only was it built for the Treehouse Masters TV show, but now it stands as a special spiritual retreat where you can only stay if you feel called to — and only if write an essay explaining your “innermost heart yearning” for your retreat at Celesterra.
The property is strictly vegetarian-only, and inside the treehouse, you’ll find a little kitchen perfect for cooking up appropriate meals. There’s a wood-burning stove to keep you toasty in inclement weather, and you can climb a ladder to the loft bed in the trees.

The moon lodge yurt is the perfect spot to get your glamp on! While this is a pretty basic and very tiny yurt, the glass ceiling makes it one-of-a-kind, and it’s uninhibited sky views are breathtaking. You can even see the Milky Way some nights.
It’s heated in winter by a wood stove, and in the summer months large drapes help keep the sun out during the daylight hours. The yurt sits in a huge field surrounded by trees and trails, so you’ll feel private and secluded during your stay.

People have been building homes from earth for thousands of years, but here in the U.S. we have gotten far away from the practice. AECT Earth Block hopes to change that, and they produce innovative machines that compress earth into compact building bricks that are resistant to just about anything!
The company owner, Ryan, built his family’s 1000 square foot home using his machines and earth sourced from his own land. Even better, much of the wood and other elements inside the home were reclaimed locally, making this a super eco-friendly build!
Below there’s a tour of the house, and a video about the earth bricks. The equipment is for sale or rent, and you can purchase ready-made bricks as well.
