Alexandria has been living on the road for a number of years and has tried out nearly all the nomadic vehicle options. First, it was a camper van conversion, then a skoolie, and now a truck camper! Despite the camper being known for its water-tightness, Alexandria found after purchasing it that it was largely rotted, and had to tear the entire thing down to the foam and rebuild it.

Thankfully, she had the help and support of her dad, who encouraged her to keep going even when it was discouraging. The result is an awesome rig that allows her to just about anywhere she feels safe. What do you think of her work?

Rachel loved backpacking internationally with her sister and eventually moved to Brazil where she fell in love and got married. The relationship ended suddenly, leaving her to build a new life with her dog. For a year, she lived out of her car but eventually upgraded to her current truck.

Her first inexpensive truck camper got destroyed in a storm in Mexico, and her upgrade from that was good for another 3 months, but this Back Country truck camper from OEV was her dream camper — and she’s loving it! It easily pops up with the aid of gas struts and provides her with a full-sized bed, a comfortable workspace for her marketing and content-creating gigs, and a compact kitchen that lets her stay off the grid for a week or two at a time. What do you think?

Phil, a professional woodworker, was going to archery competitions where he would camp in a tent. It was always a bit annoying setting up camp, but the nail in the coffin came the day his tent got entirely flooded by the rain at an annual event. After that, he decided to challenge himself and build a teardrop camper with his son. Because everyone kept asking, “How long will it take?” and “How much will it cost?”, he started keeping track of the man-hours and money spent. In the end, they spent 26 days (all weekends) and $3K on the project.

Most importantly, they got it done before the anniversary of the fateful annual archery event where he got rained out! The teardrop has an awesome hobbit door, a unique plexiglass window across the front, a back hatch with organized storage shelves, and an impressive outdoor kitchen set-up. What a fun father-son project!

Here’s a lovely little cabin in the Vermont woods — on 100 acres — that comes with a vintage 70s truck camper you can sleep in and a brand-new sauna for your enjoyment! If you come in the summertime, you can enjoy the outdoor shower or one of the two cast iron tubs outdoors, but there is a 3/4 bathroom indoors as well.

The 70s camper on the property has avocado-green walls and fun plaid upholstery, while the cabin has cozy wooden interior and wide pine flooring. There’s a full kitchen in the cabin as well so you can cook anything you’d like. What do you think?

Lance sold everything he owned on Facebook Marketplace when he decided he was tired of the 9 to 5 and ready for a new adventure! He built a DIY camper on the back of his truck and spent only $5k on the materials. He was careful to buy things second-hand and at the Dollar Tree in order to keep costs down.

You can see his whole conversion on Instagram, where he shared all the details. He has a fixed bed, a micro kitchen, and lots of beautiful artwork he did himself! He makes money helping others make their own rigs and teaching the occasional art class.

Adam proved to his boss one vacation that he was able to get as much work done away from the office as he could at work, so his job became remote. This allowed Adam and his wife Janelle to sell their house and buy a camper to start traveling more. Their original camper was too small for them, so they later purchased this amazing 1982 Silver Streak vintage camper.

While they knew it was going to be a project, they didn’t anticipate just how much of an overhaul it would need. The water damage seeped in everywhere, forcing them to peel things back to the studs and rebuild it all. Despite the work, they were able to create a truly awesome little home on wheels!

Amber and Giulietta started out traveling with a pull-behind trailer, but wanted something that could fit in a normal parking spot. Renovating this 24-year-old truck camper was the ticket! They chose bold wallpaper, fun colors, and peel-and-stick tiles to take the inside from outdated to exciting.

They really love the cozy over-cab bed with an 8-inch memory foam mattress and even though they haven’t used the shower, having a bathroom in the camper makes their lives so much easier. While they’ve done a lot of constant travel in the past, they’ve recently settled down more, spending a month or more doing camp work in exchange for a free camping spot.
