Kirsty needed a place to live with her daughter and decided a tiny house would be the perfect, affordable fit. While there were a lot of ups and downs in getting the house from the builder, they got an incredible parking spot in a small community with other like-minded families! Did I mention there’s an orchard on-site?
The home has two lofts—one for Kirsty and one for her daughter—and you reach them via safe staircases that also offer storage. The huge kitchen maximizes counter space and makes homemade meals easy! On the other side of the house, you’ll find a U-shaped dinette area that they use to welcome friends for dinner every week. What do you think of this space?

This is an incredible round floating tower cottage on a lake in Joncherey, France. It’s part of a larger community of eco-friendly habitats that share a lovely “lodge” on the shore with a spa and full bathrooms.
The floating home is reminiscent of “Swiss Family Robinson,” with rustic railings made from limbs and an all-wooden interior. There is a little bathroom on the first floor, and the second floor houses a queen bed. The deck area wraps around the house, providing a comfortable spot to enjoy nature and a mug of coffee.

Steve and Di were living in an urban apartment when Di started crunching numbers and realizing that having a child would make it tough to make ends meet. That’s when she and Steve decided that a DIY tiny house would give them more time with their son, less time at work, and a closer connection to the land.
They’ve been living in a tiny home for about 5 years and have moved it a couple of times before settling on their current rural homestead in Australia. The little house is off-grid, powered by solar, with a composting toilet, a garden, and animals. They love their remote and quiet life, especially spending time on the huge porch that wraps around two of the walls.

Are you searching for some tiny house plans? Small House Catalog released three excellent choices recently: A 336-square-foot A-frame, a 224-square-foot studio cottage, and an itty bitty writer’s cabin.
If you’re looking for a full-time residence, the A-Frame is likely your best bet as it has a first-floor bedroom, a loft, and a kitchen and bathroom area. The studio cottage would make a great guest cottage, although with enough storage you could easily live in it full-time. Finally, the writer’s cabin is the most basic of the plans and is meant as an auxiliary office, since there’s no plumbing planned in. Check them out below and tell us which is your favorite!

This PodTel might be the future of housing! It was factory-built and dropped off via crane in the Spanish desert, and it’s completely, 100% self-sustaining. The tiny house is off-grid with solar panels, an incinerating toilet, and a water system that sucks moisture out of the air to provide water for the home.
All of those features are then controlled by your smartphone via a special app, making the entire house smart as well as sustainable! You can dim the lights, control the temperature, and even purchase locked “extras” while you stay there. Because the home is self-contained, it can be placed just about anywhere in the world (that you can move a crane, of course). What do you think?
