This is the story of Nick Jordan’s bendy bus conversion. It’s an oversized bendy bus that he bought and turned into his custom tiny house/motorhome. You may remember the first time we featured his bus in early 2018, but he has since updated it.
Have you ever considered converting a bus into a motorhome for yourself? If so, has a bus like this ever crossed your mind?

Have I thought of it? Never! Why? Firstly, if being used for moving around the country… jeepers, the cost! And, I don’t have a license to drive vehicles like this, and quite frankly I’d fail the test. Plus, there’d be many roads unavailable due to size or weight restrictions. Thereby whole swathes of the country out of contention.
And wow, the bendy part, what a wonderful heat loss device. (sarcasm there)
This is real cool! Love the design. Is huge, long.
This is great. I love what he has done with it. The kitchen and bathroom are beautiful with lots of room. Great job. 🙂
Thanks, Jenn, glad you enjoyed it!
Even though I have a CDL drivers license that qualifies me to operate vehicles like this, it is my understanding that if the vehicle is privately owned and has been properly converted and retitled as a motor home no special license is required.
Interesting, thanks!
His point on travel is a real concern IF the owner intends to tour with it. My experience with driving an extended cab truck and towing a 18ft trailer has has me rethinking, routes, inclines and parking. A 180 degree turn on a curved country road in the Texas Hill Country could be a real sticking memory with a vehicle this size. Flat out Australia or West Texas plains no so much a issue, stops between towns and MPG (GPM) another story.
Ha ha… yeah I’m with you on the GPM bit. Be as thirsty as a sailor on shore leave.
He’s in Austalia…So other countries MMV on being able to get around…
Though, mind, not all trucks have the same turning radius, only a few can make really sharp turns, and some of the more advanced articulate buses will have rear turning axles. So there are options that will be better at making turns but you have to be wary of the ones that can’t…
Trade offs to everything, though…
Awesome tiny travel home. How long is it. This vehicle would be excellent for exploring Australian Outback as you live in it. Is the bus propulsion a diesel engine?
