Compact Kitchen Design Ideas: Space-Saving Storage for Tiny Houses and Mobile Homes

Tiny house kitchens require creative storage solutions to maximize limited counter and cabinet space. These examples demonstrate practical approaches to organizing cooking essentials in compact environments, from mobile homes to garage-style open shelving systems.

Box Truck Kitchen with Slide-Out Drawers

This mobile home kitchen features slide-out drawers with plastic containers installed above the water tank—a smart use of vertical space. A curtain beneath the countertop can conceal tanks and plumbing while maintaining accessibility.

I see nothing wrong with the exposed water tank. Beats my own arrangement of the 2 7 gallon tanks, with spigot, (Wallyworld), that I use in a gravity flow arrangement. Also like the creative use of the garage organizers in a kitchen. Obviously whoever did this one has a lot more space than I do.

Gotta leave my two cents on the Husky workbench in the kitchen. That pegboard is just a cheap pressboard and is extremely porous. This will not be very easy to clean, and won’t be sanitary for very long. Think cutting up raw chicken…

What? Counter at pegboard is stainless steel. It will clean up nicely. The other counter is butcher block. Or at least that what it looks like to me. Clever.
