Simon had travelled around Europe surfing with his buddies in a VW van when he was younger, and that nostalgia got him into a Vanagon restoration project for weekend travels and camping getaways. This vintage update of a 40-year-old vehicle brings the Westy back to it’s original glory, with some great upgrades such as a flatscreen TV, GPS, and cupholders.
It wasn’t exactly a cheap endeavor (he spent $7.5k on the van itself, and another $15k renovating it), but it brings him joy and he’s constantly stopped by others on the road with memories of the VW van days. Watch his video tour below!

Built in 1971, this a-frame has a flat-top, which creates a more heat-efficient space. But don’t worry, it doesn’t feel at all like a 70’s time warp when you walk inside!
Instead, Danielle and Ely have transformed the place, lovingly called “The Greenhouse,” into a boho-chic vacation property, nestled on three acres in the Catskill Mountains.

Vanlife, like “normal” life, has changed since the pandemic, and Nate & Izzy built their unique campervan with COVID restrictions in mind. They made space for a shower and portable toilet just in case gyms close down again, and they went with a cool murphy bed set-up I haven’t yet seen in a van.
When the murphy bed is up, they have a bench space with a fold-down table for eating meals and working, and when it’s down they have a cozy spot to snuggly up and watch TV. They DIY-ed their countertops with a bunch of 1×2 lumber, and used a salad bowl from Amazon for their stylish sink.

Crystal is a self-proclaimed introvert who prefers living on her own, so she jumped at the opportunity to put down roots in the “middle-of-nowhere” Alaska in her own dry tiny cabin.
She purchased her basic shell about four years ago, and has used reclaimed, thrifted, and gifted materials to transform the place into her happy home. During the past 9 months she’s been adding a loft to the space and creating a master bedroom. Her next project will be getting a shallow well so she can have running water.

She made the unique choice in her van to close off the garage, allowing her to create a unique set up for all her gear storage that doesn’t clutter up her main living space. Inside you’ll find gorgeous maple live-edge counter tops she epoxied, a ceiling mural she’s painting, and even an oven!

Ready for a light-hearted tour of a great tiny house? JP from Minimaliste has such a fun way of introducing us to the company’s latest builds, and this tour is no exception (there’s even a surprise visitor!).
Built for a specific customer, the Peuplier features a split loft with space for parents and a baby, as well a very safe and storage-loaded staircase that takes you up there. The u-shaped seating area doubles as a second bed area, and there’s a kitchen with stainless steel countertops and even a stainless steel shower stall in the bathroom!
