Budget Stealth Box Truck Living: Recycled Materials 2

Rhett traveled the US on his motorcycle for a couple of years before meeting Ashley. He lived with just three backpacks of stuff he could fit on his ride! With Ashley came two adorable dogs, so they upgraded to this amazing box truck which they transformed into a home on a budget.

Ashley calls Rhett a “tinkerer,” saying he loves to see what he can do with the fewest materials possible. You see that clearly in their minimalist build, which includes a stand-up desk on a pulley system and a bed that folds down with some Rhett engineering. The whole home uses recycled materials to make a perfect space for the couple and their dogs.

From 2700 to 314 Square Feet: Family’s RV Travel Lifestyle 13

I absolutely love seeing families downsize from “regular” American homes to itty bitty spaces and seeing them truly enjoy and thrive in that lifestyle. That’s the case for the Aviles family, who went from a 2,700 square foot sticks and bricks home to a 314 square foot RV so they could travel.

In 2019, they travelled over 6,000 miles, and put in another 8k in 2020! While they do plan to eventually build another home, it’s clear this minimalist experiment has forever changed them for the better. Plus their two kids have seen so much of the country they might have never seen if they stayed at home.

They did a ton of work on their 1996 Winnebago to make it a boho-chic home that reflects their personalities and works with their lifestyle. Enjoy the photos below and be sure to read our Q&A with mom, Aubrey, below!

What would it take for you to be debt-free? What could you do without monthly payments? The Ries family decided to move into an RV so they could pay cash to slowly build a small home!

While they could have been moved in by now had they financed their home, living tiny with their two little kids means that once they move in, they won’t be carrying debt! They’ve done 95% of the house building by themselves. Amazing.

We got to interview Karissa and hear about what it’s like living in their RV renovation. Check it out below, and follow the family on Instagram.

Four Years of Tiny RV Living — With No Intentions of Upsizing! 3

Isela and Tyler never planned on living in an RV for four years, but after their first year of saving for a “bricks and sticks” home by living tiny, they realized they loved the minimalist lifestyle and at the moment, have no intention of “upsizing” any time soon.

In fact, when they found out they were expecting a baby, they transformed their half bath in to a baby nursery with a loft! Now the family of three — and their two fur babies — are all enjoying the tiny life together.

Soon Isela will graduate from nursing school and become a travel nurse. As you can imagine, the RV life is perfect for travel nursing! They can bring home wherever they go. Read our Q&A with Isela at the end of the post, and follow the family on Instagram.

Now busy urbanites can take a trip to the country store, or sit down for some family-style cooking. It was first unveiled at the Macy’s Day Parade of 2019.

Enjoy the pictures and the promotional video below, and hey, maybe this gives you some ideas on how to open a tiny restaurant of your own.

Debt-Free Kentucky Shed-To-Home Conversion

Shawn and Jess have been living tiny now for more than four years in an RV, and they recently finished this tiny house on a foundation where they will vacation and plan to retire someday!

This is a great example of a new shed transformed into a tiny living space. They purchased the shell from Tuff Shed and then Shawn built out the entire interior of the home. It has two lofts, a large main living area, and a bathroom/kitchen in the back. While the indoor kitchen is quite minimal, there’s a large outdoor patio area with a grill and more.

Watch the video tour below, and enjoy our Q&A with Jess after the photos!
