Meet the “Trekkershus,” an awesome shippping container turned vacation property. It sits in the PlatzProjekt, an experimental village in Hannover, Germany. During your stay you’ll be surrounded by other unique, alternative buildings and architectural concepts.
This container home houses the bedroom and office space (with speedy internet) indoors, while the eating and kitchen space are on the terrace. The bathroom with full plumbing is affixed to the container and accesible via the deck. What do you think of the design?

Make lemonade out of lemons, right? Heidi saw her job lost in the midst of the pandemic as the perfect catalyst to bus life — she had been dreaming of traveling for years! With the help of her dad’s garage full of tools, she was able to transform her short bus for around $15K, including the cost of the bus.
She kept the original handicap door so she can open it up and set up her hammock chair, and she even found room for her large “tiny painting” collection that she wasn’t willing to part with. The interior of her bus has so much character with bold prints and paintings that match her unique taste.

When dealing with a compact space, finding ways to hide your stuff is of utmost importance. While open-concept shelving has really taken off lately, Mark Langen shows how creative hidden storage can allow for clean lines while still keeping the space visually open.

Matt and Nikki were supposed to get married in 2020, but when those plans got messed up, Nikki slowly started convincing Matt that a bus conversion would be a super fun lifestyle change. At the time they were childless, but the couple just moved into the bus and are expecting a baby any day now!
Nikki spent a lot of time at their local Maker’s Space in Canada, where there are all kinds of tools available for projects. She learned a lot from the folks there, and the couple also relied heavily on family members to help with different aspects of their build. The final result is breathtaking!

Many Ukrainians have had to flee their homes due to the Russian invasion, and while some have left Ukraine altogether, plenty of others have fled to Western Ukraine. And it’s there that the Polish government has funded a “tiny house village” of prefab structures.
While most of the structures will only be used as temporary housing, plenty of the fleeing Ukrainians have lost their homes and will need permanent housing solutions. Perhaps in brighter days these cubes can be separated and reused on their own little lots.

Blaine loved his life of international travel, but the pandemic shut the world down back in 2020 and he was looking for something to satisfy his wanderlust. When he dove into #vanlife research, he found his niche! His Ford Transit conversion is simple and stealthy and allows him to go just about anywhere.
At 6’3″, he needed to carefully craft his van so he could stand up and fully lay down in his bed — and he succeeded! The interior has a log-cabin vibe, while the exterior has nothing indicating it’s a home and not a work van. Very creative!

It all started when the children of an aerospace engineer wanted a treehouse: Their dad thought a shed was just too basic, and instead he created what would later become the first iteration of the “Conker.” These Sci-Fi Conkers are spherical homes (unless you get the wheelchair-accessible “Igloo” version) that feature sustainable materials and a eco-friendly footprint.
You can click multiple Conkers together to fit your needs or growing family, or you can use a single pod as a guest house, spare room, or office. They even sell Baby Conkers that act as treehouses for little ones. What do you think?
