For Alli and Allan, life on the road didn’t start as a spontaneous adventure — it grew out of a shared desire for freedom, healing, and creativity. Alli was the first to dream about a home that could move with them, and while Allan faced his own challenges with emotional and physical trauma, the idea of a slower, more intentional lifestyle eventually resonated. Today, hitting the road feels not only natural to them — it feels essential.
Their beautiful blue skoolie began as a fully converted $15K Facebook Marketplace find. It was turnkey, but the couple immediately saw ways to make it their own. With Alli’s artistic eye leading the transformation, they spent the next couple of years shaping the bus into a warm, expressive, deeply personal rolling home. The result is a cozy, creative space that reflects both their journey and their joy.

You might remember this couple’s first box truck build from a while back — a creative “party truck” with some bold ideas. Since then, they’ve completely leveled up. They sold the original build, started over, and created a far more refined, functional, and adventure-ready box truck tiny home.
This upgraded version improves everything they didn’t love the first time around: better layout, smarter storage, a more efficient shower setup, upgraded kitchen surfaces, and an incredible elevator bed system. If you want to see what a second-generation box truck build looks like when the builders really know their craft — this is it.

Tanya and Derec are living proof that wheelchair-accessible van life is absolutely doable. With help from the VA, they now travel full-time with their service dog and are developing grants to help more wheelchair users experience life on the road.
