  Way cool but pricy space saver. Would love to specify in my “J” Wall design series but as they are designed for the economy, not really an option. Not suited for bigger pot washing like Insta-pot.

    Maybe but it’s not just a dishwasher as it can also be used to automatically clean fruits, veggies, and seafood. All while being much more water use efficient. So it also augments the normal sink usage, which means you’re more likely to use it more often and that can mean you can get more out of it…

    Add a faucet with extendable hose sprayer, you’re not limited to the one shown, and it’ll be a pretty flexible and capable solution that can work around its size limitations… While it’s also easier to access, clean, and maintain than a regular dishwasher. No need to bend down and work within a confining space, etc… For something that may be used every single day, the convenience it can offer and how that can effect daily life, it’s something to consider at least…

      James all valid points and for ME, it fills that efficiency niche very nicely..The totality of costs will probably show over time the less water use will justify $1500 initial costs and the ergonomic function will more than make it a great purchase. But as you know when trying to hit that $100 per sq. ft. barrier, pennies have to be counted, and as that is where I design in, as an option later would have to be the cut-off.

        Possibly but like I often say, there are always trade offs. So that’s always part of my thinking…

        However, keep in mind the price is for both a sink and dishwasher. Depending on the type of dishwasher, installing a new unit could cost as little as $370 and as high as $3,500. Add, $150 to $750 for a kitchen sink, plus $230 to $650 for install labor. Gives some perspective on how the price of this compares.

        So may seem high compared to the low end, especially, if you install them yourself but it’s still much lower than the very high end that can exceed $5,000 when all is said and done.

        But it doesn’t end there as the costs also extends to the rest of the kitchen as space savings can also help lower some of the other costs of the kitchen space with making the design and construction of the cabinets easier, making it easier to provide enough counter space, how much storage space you can fit into the kitchen, limit how much plumbing work you’d have to do, etc.

        Albeit that does come with a trade off of how much space the sink and dishwasher themselves have, as you pointed out with the example of perhaps not being able to clean large pots, etc.

        While long term costs also involve maintenance and repairs, which this design could make easier and lower those long term costs. There’s also some added safety with a dishwasher door facing up instead of out the front. Reducing possible water damage risks, avoiding spills, reducing the risk of developing mold and other issues, makes it easier to drain and dry out, etc.

        Making the cost benefit analysis a bit more complicated than it may first appear… The numbers may still not work for your applications, but it doesn’t appear they wouldn’t be that far off either once everything is considered… Perhaps as an optional upgrade option or specific model series where you may require space for something else and this could help you get that space without taking it all from something else… Keeping in mind that a Park Model does limit you to a max under 400 Sq Ft for everything in the living space and adjusting how that space is used can have an impact on the final costs. So it’s possible in some situations it could be the cheaper option…

        Regardless, it’s one of many options to consider and the more options the better for everyone even if they aren’t all for everyone, as they can be what’s optimal in certain situations and help reduce how often we need to compromise more than absolutely necessary…

    Bill could I ask what is J wall design? I’m designing a couple tiny homes for my daughter and son. They’ll set up beside the barn along with a third one which is a studio for their music. Not being trailers the $100 per square foot should be easy to stay below.

  I’m designing a motorhome for myself. It will be handicap accessible. I’d like the dimensions and some info about installation of this dishwasher/sink. Just in the dream/wish state yet, but I want it very carefully planned out before I have it built. Appreciatively, Mrs T S Do NOT use my name.

  It looks nice but we could not use it. My wife is totally blind and she needs dials and real buttons. The stick on braille tape does not last.
