This is one of the best designed tiny houses Iβve seen. The 10ft. width makes such a difference in how livable the house feels. They have created a tiny house with lots of storage, a nice kitchen and real βlivingβ space. Beautiful job!
Nice design with 2 caveats. How do you get to the second loft space, one set of stairs shown but nothing for the second. Also, if you really can’t do without a TV then surely it can’t be good for you to be watching such a huge screen from so close. It must be like sitting in the from row at the cinema, you end up with a stiff neck from tilting it to see the screen and a headache from being so near. Have watched huge TV screens from fairly close (though further than 8′ and screens from 30″-54″) and all that happens is a headache and sore eyes. This is the one thing that really bugs me with tiny homes, a narrow space from sofa to TV and a huge screen taking up an enormous amount of precious wall space.
She demonstrated the fold out attic ladder in the video but you can see it underneath the loft in the photos of the living area.
As for the TV, you can look up a TV size to distance charts but basically a 32″ to 40″ TV should be comfortable to watch at around 8′ away. While the optimal height is dependent on whether the middle of the TV follows your direct line of sight from the position you’re at while sitting and leaning back because then your rest position will be at a slight angle.
The idea is a 30 degree field of view coverage is good for mixed usage but a 40 degree field of view is better for cinema and they go beyond that for a IMAX effect to cover your entire field of view… Versus a 20 degree of view if you want everything towards the center of your field of vision…
I am awestruck. It has it all and doesn’t look crowded at all.
I live in a tiny home. This one is much larger than mine. It is amazingly well thought out. So many people design them but I believe you need to live in one before you know what works. The living area looks very comfortable. I am curious, has anyone come up with a vented washer dryer combo yet? Seems like a simple enough solution to their major drawback, very slow drying time. I do believe this is more than I need but would be perfect for a couple. Very well done.
That’s such a great question, Cynthia! I wish I knew. We had a washer/dryer combo in our flat in Scotland and I gave up trying to try anything in it because it took sooo long.
This is one of my all time favorites! Usually I can find something I would change, this time zip! Should my hubby pass I would downsize to this asap!π
So glad you liked this!
