The Nook tiny house plans are from Humble Homes.

It’s their smallest tiny house design available so far.

Tiny House Plans Just 10’x6.5′ Footprint

That’s TINY! Fortunately the sleeping loft is just a little bit bigger.

If you include both the loft area and the first floor there’s a total of just 119 square feet.

Last week I showed you the McG tiny house plans.

Today I’m showing you yet another option from Humble Homes.

This one is for those of you who like the idea of a sleeping loft with a ladder.

The BRV2 Tiny House

I like the BRV2 because it makes great use of space and separates living and sleeping.

I also really like the french doors near the kitchen and living area. Did I mention this tiny house design has 10 windows?

If you don’t like the idea of upstairs sleeping lofts you’ll love this tiny house design by Humble Homes.

It’s a multifunctional design with a genius slide out bed and storage system. In most tiny homes, there’s a sleeping loft above the kitchen to make the best use of space. The problem is, you might not want to climb up or down a ladder, especially in the middle of the night if you have to use the bathroom. So they’ve come up with an incredible solution which was to raise the floor of the kitchen and design and build a slide out bed underneath. Would you use this tiny house plan to build your home?

It might be the number one comment here at tiny house talk: “I want a small space, but I don’t want a loft. I’m looking for a single story design.”

Friend of Tiny House Talk and designer Dan Louche has created a fantastic tiny house without a loft and it is available on his website. Alex has spoken to Dan about the tiny house he built for his mother, which is the same design. I wanted to ask him a few additional questions about designing and building a single story home on wheels.

What was your reason for designing a single story tiny house?

The first house I ever built was our single story Tiny Retirement model (affiliate). It was for my mom. She had been living in a mobile home that had started to deteriorate and so she needed to move. I loved many of the tiny houses that were available but I knew a loft wouldn’t be an option for my mom. So I worked out a design without one that could still accommodate her lifestyle.

This 8′ x 26′ tiny house on a trailer is being built by Bob Pritts of East Tennessee. It has a country cottage style to it and is being constructed on a 26′ trailer. At approximately 208 square feet it’s going to be his retirement home. With no mortgage or rent, it’s going to help him create a lot more disposable income. So that’s why people say less is more… Since it’s such a small space, Bob splurged on some granite and cherry wood for the inside. Once he’s done building it, it’s going to be parked in a mobile home lot. Bob chose to install plenty of windows throughout so he can enjoy a lot of lighting. Instead of having a sleeping loft he went with a longer trailer and designed the living room to double as a bedroom just like you’d see in a studio. Bob also opted for a full sized shower and insulated the house really well so that it’ll be easy to cool and heat throughout the year.

This week I wanted to show you Dan Louche’s latest tiny house plans. He calls this design Tiny Living.

It’s a 20′ long house that includes enough room for a bathroom, sleeping loft, kitchen and plenty of room for your belongings.

Tiny House Plans: Tiny Living by Dan Louche

The entryway on the house is on the rear end of the trailer and as you can tell it does not have a built-in porch.

Since a patio or deck is something you can easily add later, I appreciate how Dan left the porch out to maximize the interior living space.

It’s Thursday plans day again. Today’s tiny house plans are from Dan Louche of Tiny Home Builders.

For those of you who don’t know Dan this is second tiny house design named Tiny Living.

Tiny Living Tiny House Plans

Tiny Living is one of Tiny Home Builders latest designs after Dan created Tiny Retirement for his mother.

Not long ago I took a trip up to North Florida to check out the latest progress on his build. I’ll show you the pictures I took in a minute.

Dan has been designing and building his own tiny houses for the last couple of years. Since then he has put together a wonderful resource for those who want to do the same.

He currently offers two designs:

Jay Shafer, the founder of Tumbleweed Houses, designed the Epu tiny house and offers building plans for those interested in their very own little home on wheels.

He lived in this design for several years before selling it so that he can create more. This post will give you all of the information you need to find building plans for the Epu.

You’ll also find plenty of photos and a complete video tour of the house with Jay himself.

Tumbleweed Epu Tiny House

This design is 8′ wide and 15′ long and is made to sit on a 7′ by 14′ double axle trailer. Inside the ceiling is 6′ 3″ high with a loft height of 3′ 8″.

If you are a taller person these dimensions can be adjusted when building to meet your own height requirements as it has been done before.

Anderjack Box Bungalow Tiny House Plans

The Anderjack is one of Tumbleweed Houses’ designs in the Box Bungalow category, created during the early days of the modern tiny house movement.

This design was created by Jay Shafer, a pioneer of the tiny house movement who lived in small spaces since 1997. Shafer founded Tumbleweed Tiny House Company before later starting Four Lights Tiny House Company.

Jay Shafer and the Tiny House Movement

Jay Shafer helped bring tiny houses into the mainstream, not because he was the first person to live simply, but because he successfully shared his ideas with the world through his designs, workshops, and publications.

His book, The Small House Book, explores loopholes in minimum size housing building codes that can allow tiny homes in various jurisdictions. It also shares his story, research, and several of his designs in full color.

The Anderjack Box Bungalow

This design gained national attention when it was featured on HGTV’s Design Star.
