This is a fundraiser for the SocialBite Village for Edinburgh’s Homeless.
Remember Tiny House Scotland’s NestHouse? Most of you really loved it, and builder Jonathan Avery is teaming up with Social Bite to help build a tiny house community.
The village will include 20 tiny homes, which each cost about £30,000, as well as a “controlled environment where residents will receive everything they need including counselling, money management guidance, cooking lessons, exercise and therapy. Residents will also learn new skills and get their life back on track, working in an onsite vegetable garden, chicken coup and furniture workshop as well as given work placements in our shops and restaurant.”

This is the Gila County RV Park in Arizona.
It currently needs a manager, possibly someone with a tiny house looking for a spot to park. The manger will work five days a week, five hours a day for a free space and utilities, cable TV, wireless internet, and a small compensation.

This is a community of tiny homes was listed for sale in Highlands, New Jersey on none other than… eBay! There are a total of 11 tiny homes in different sizes and conditions. As I originally wrote this, the eBay bid price was $239,500 for the houses with a stellar water view.
Outside, you’ll notice these homes have seen better days: they were once part of a 1920’s bungalow colony. The homes surround a central courtyard and would be a perfect fixer upper opportunity for folks hoping to live with like-minded tiny house enthusiasts. Some houses need more help than others, but by city ordinance, they can be used for a year-round dwelling if not seriously altered. Five of the homes are 12×20 feet and five larger homes are 14×18 feet and there is one two-story main house. On the inside, some homes have wood planking, pastel milk paint, and old wooden flooring. In November 2014, city council members in Walsenburg, Colorado, a crossroads community located 90 miles south of Colorado Springs, eliminated a longstanding zoning code prohibiting buildings smaller than 600 square feet. They wanted to make room for so-called tiny homes, the trendy structures that have become popular with everyone from millennials to baby boomers seeking simpler, less cluttered lifestyles.

City of the Sun, an intentional community of 200 acres North of the village of Columbus NM on the Mexican border is soliciting new members. COS was established almost 40 years ago. The land is arid desert surrounded by several small mountain ranges. The economy in the area is fairly depressed so prospective members are encouraged to have independent incomes such as retirement or skills that can be applied via internet etc..
Each member is entitled to up to 2 large lots. Most of the structures are owner built and include numerous tiny houses. Alternative building techniques have always been encouraged and there are quite a few structures made out of papercrete and adobe.

The other day we showed you the Cowboy tiny house by Hummingbird Micro Homes. Today I’m showing you their first tiny house community which is opening September 1, 2015 in Terrace, British Columbia.
This tiny living community is named Bluegrass Meadow Micro Village and it’s been created with a mission to help provide affordable housing options to residents of Terrace, BC. The community is located about 10 minutes away from downtown Terrace and it’s nestled between the Kalum River and the Nisga’a Highway. The first phase of the community includes 19 homes with common areas like a BBQ, community cabin, and a fire pit.
