The founders of Providence Park recently broke ground on a 50-acre community designed to provide permanent housing, support, and income opportunities to the chronically homeless in Arkansas and based on Community First! Model: This village will eventually include 400 homes, a community garden, a health center, a functional hall, and more.

The village goes beyond putting a roof over someone’s head. It intends to provide wrap-around care for the most vulnerable, including access to mental health support and opportunities for individuals to work “on campus” and form a community. They just completed the first home and hope to have 100 finished by Spring 2025, eventually completing 400 homes in future phases of the project.

Ansel is a self-proclaimed “tiny house hacker,” and that’s because he’s figured out how to earn $6,000/month off of the three tiny homes in his backyard! Oh, and they’re all legal dwellings so he doesn’t have to worry about getting shut down.

He owns and lives on the small plot of land where his 800-square-foot home sits, and then he has two THOWs and a detached garage he turned into a luxury ADU. Ansel rents all three spaces on Airbnb and the income has completely changed his life (for the better). Enjoy the tour of all of them below.

Jess & Shawn wanted to get into #vanlife to make it easier to chase their rock climbing dreams. It took a bit of convincing for Jess to see herself living in a van, but with the promise of a giant closet and lots of Pinterest inspiration, she got on board.

Their bus features an awesome accent wall made from recycled fencing that hides their bathroom (and toiletry clutter), as well as a 3-burner stove and oven with a strategically-placed faucet that doubles as a pot-filler! Their Murphy bed allows them to easily transform the back of the van from “day mode” to bedtime. What do you think?

Jason is a former Starbucks and Google Executive who turned to vanlife to give him and his family a fun way to adventure. While his teenagers don’t often join the couple on their travels, they have bunks to put in the garage when their big kids want to tag along.

This van features all the high-tech amenities, including an impressive stereo system that allows passengers to enjoy music on the road or while parked. They opted for a simple porta-potty setup, and their bed is pushed forward to create a private indoor shower in the garage.

This one-of-a-kind Cedar and metal tiny home was built by Drew, a creative and driven designer with a passion for sustainable living in style. Most of the materials were reclaimed from a variety of resources and recycled into ideal use. It’s fully solar-powered by a 1200 watt Renogy system, three 170 amp-hour Lithium Iron batteries, and a 3000-watt inverter/charger.

The interior is laid out like a luxury suite with healthy plants adorning the walls, operatable skylights to brighten the space, and custom artwork for a unique touch. The functional bathroom holds a toilet and full shower with a high-efficiency head and dampener valve. The kitchen has abundant storage with an induction cooktop and built-in wall oven aside from a gorgeous 24×48 tile for the backsplash.

The most outstanding feature of this DIY build is the seamless drop-down deck and fold-out awning. Drew can have a beautiful porch with shaded seats and endless views in a matter of minutes!

Most of you know Marsha and her famous tiny house builds that she has so graciously shared with us over the years. This is an update on her 8×8 shed tiny house since she added a customized French door.

From her micro houses to her short-bus skoolie conversion, to her more recent truck-bed micro cottage and her shed tiny house in Denton, North Carolina, Marsha has built quite a number of micro and tiny homes. In this post, you’ll get to see the latest improvements to her 8×8 shed-based tiny home! The most notable improvement is that she replaced a standard white exterior door with a custom French door which makes the world of a difference! Check it out!
