Shelby and Shane were working long hours and just barely able to make ends meet, so they decided it was time to make a change. They found this box truck already converted by a couple who decided to settle down, and jumped at the opportunity. While they miss things like an oven to cook in, they are happy with their newfound financial freedom.
The increase in free time has allowed Shelby to start an embroidered bracelet business, and Shane works part-time doing a normal job and has also dabbled in spoon carving! Great for them! Enjoy the tour below.
Braden downsized from a 1000-square-foot home into this amazing 400-square-foot park model at Village Farm in Austin. He’s really hoping that the tiny house movement will result in smaller homes and taller trees!
His tiny house has an awesome layout, with a compact, but functional, ground-floor bedroom with plenty of closet space. What do you think of this tiny space?
Eric and Robbyn were nearing retirement age but thought they still had more years to work. That’s when a trip to Europe completely changed their perspective, seeing people who didn’t work themselves into the ground as they do in the U.S. That’s when they got the idea to stop living normally and find a way to travel!
Eric used his amazing carpentry skills to build out their shuttle bus home complete with a queen-sized bed (stationary), bathroom, and large galley kitchen space with tons of overhead cabinetry. Their only regret? They didn’t choose this life sooner!
Laurén might just have the best of both worlds — she owns her own little farmhouse in South Carolina where she stays during the nice weather, and when winter hits, she hops in her converted Ram Promaster to chase the sun. Her variety of remote work both for her family’s business and Tiny Home Tours allows her the flexibility to go where she pleases, and her professionally-built van has all kinds of amazing storage you’ll be amazed by!
The van uses a Murphy bed to give her tons of seating for guests, and an easy way to set up and take down her sleeping area. She has a two-burner cooktop, a convection oven, and an awning which all make her space super functional. Tell us what you think in the comments!
Below is a beautiful van tour with Kalen and her cats. Unfortunately, the van and most of her belongings are gone since she had an accident and rollover. Fortunately, she and the cats are all okay. Watch her pre-accident tour below (her van was beautiful) and consider donating here to help her get back on her feet.
Kalen teaches English while she’s also working on her Master’s degree, and since the pandemic has been able to do it all online. She also has a chronic illness that could have stopped her from jumping on the van wagon, but she didn’t!
This is the story of Jed and Sandy and their full-time van life.
The couple initially sold their home, quit their jobs, and downsized into a 30-ft. travel trailer. Years later, they decided they wanted to downsize once again into a van so that they can get to more remote places during their travels, allowing them to see and experience even more. Today, they are still full-time nomads. Learn more and check out their van-based tiny home below!
This is the story of Chad and Paul’s Storyteller Van Life with their 4×4 Sprinter Storyteller Overland Stealth Mode!
After having another van, they traded up for a Storyteller Overland in Stealth Mode which features a unique and highly functional layout that they are much happier with. The campervan also features a unique interior shower that literally disappears when not in use. It also has a ‘groove lounge’ that has a variety of functions including a second bed. Check it out and learn more below!
This is Dustin Klein and his DIY 2020 ProMaster City van conversion.
He built a stealth tiny house in the 131.7 cubic ft of cargo space in the van. It’s pretty amazing! Have you ever considered a smaller van build like this?
This is to announce that John and Fin Kernohan, of United Tiny House, and @belovedcabin on Instagram, are hosting a live online open house of their tiny houses, this Saturday August 15, 2020 at 3 PM EST.
It’s a completely free event, you’ll get to tour two tiny houses, get a sneak peek of their treehouse, a talk on how to succeed as an AirBnB host, and more behind the scenes from their 16-acre homestead. Enjoy..!
