This is the story of Brenda and Marvin’s Tiny Cottage that they designed and built themselves. They did it for only $25,000 and they built it in less than a year.
You can actually see how they did it below, you can look at their floor plan, constructions costs, and you can even inquire with them about buying a set of plans so you can build one just like it for yourself.

Nestled in the woods this tiny garden cottage is rare in style and design. There is a glass wall on one side of the cottage that is covered with wooden shutters.
During the day these shutters can be opened allowing the beautiful warm sunlight to come inside and then be closed at night for privacy.
The tiny garden cottage was done by architects from Zecc and teamed up with the interior designer, Roel van Norel. Together they made this small space very functional to live in full time.
All the natural sunlight and wood details give this home a cozy feel. About two-thirds of the garden cottage is the living/dining area and kitchen.
Check out all the photos and enjoy!

I thought you’d like to tour Susan’s 423 sq. ft. tiny cottage studio with an upstairs loft.
It’s in the East Bay area of California. When you walk inside there’s a ground floor area with a living room, bathroom, and plenty of open space for a kitchenette if you wanted to add one.
When you go upstairs there’s a spacious loft bedroom area. In total, there’s one bedroom and one bathroom. Susan, the owner, uses the space in many ways. She’s quite flexible with it, in fact, as you’ll learn below.

Straight out of a storybook this sweet little whimsical cottage is a dream come true for Sue Corl and her husband Ron.
The cottages’ design, look and feel was based on Sue’s childhood dream of having a tiny cottage just like Rudolph, Hermey & Yukon Cornelius (from the Classic cartoon Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer).
Thus the name of their tiny home, “The Rudolph Cottage“.
Ron and Sue have been living tiny for over 28 years. After living in a 200 sq. ft. travel trailer for seven years with their two cats and a large dog they decided it was time to up-size (or should I say ‘right-size’?).
So they bought 30 acres of beautiful lush woodland amongst the largest Amish community in central Ohio.
Then they spent over 2 years gathering the perfect materials to create this whimsical fantasy tiny house Sue always dreamed of.
Let’s check it out while I tell you the rest of their very inspiring simple living story…

I think you will absolutely love this small guest cottage.
Perfect size for out-of-town guests visiting for a while.
The bright white walls and windows make this small space seem huge!
Alisha and her husband, Graham of Fairfax, CA decided it was time to renovate their studio cottage.
This 320 sq ft guest cottage has a vintage California laid back charm to it. Their friends often ask when they can move in.
Alisha says her biggest challenge with the renovation was convincing her husband to let her paint everything white.
I think they made a great choice because this guest cottage is super cute!

If you’re looking to go tiny or downsize but don’t exactly want to live in less than 200-square-feet OR be limited by an 8.5-foot wide trailer, then you might like this option. It’s still a tiny house on wheels but it’s a park model because it’s much bigger.
These sort of units are nothing new, and this one is built by Palm Harbor Homes. It has a relaxing beach vibe, doesn’t it? Take a look below, and let us know in the comments, would you consider living tiny in a park model sort of like this one?
