This is the 597 Sq. Ft. Prince Edward Island small home design/plans by Robinson Residential.
The Prince Edward Island-597 small home plan is inspired by the iconic farm house captured in the classic story ‘Anne of Green Gables’ written by Lucy Maud Montgomery in 1908. This novel chronicled rural and village life in Victorian Cavendish and created a vivid picture of this pastoral island in the Gulf of the St. Lawrence with its rolling hills, forests and unique red soil. Our Prince Edward Island plan features: Front entry porch and rear covered veranda; Main floor with large common room and wood stove; 2nd floor bedroom, ¾ bath with ample closet pace and laundry. We think Anne Shirley would be positively delighted!

This is a tiny two-story cottage called the Fulton. It’s a 600 Sq. Ft. accessory dwelling unit (ADU) built by Wishbone Tiny Homes in Asheville, North Carolina.
The home has a tiny footprint and tall stature! It’s two stories with two bedrooms, one and a half baths, and three decks (including a second-story balcony). If you go the ADU route (meaning you build the home on land with an existing primary structure), the website says “$200 – $350 per square foot covers everything from permitting to appliances.” Scroll through the picture tour below and get in touch with Wishbone Tiny Homes if you have questions. Enjoy!

These are the Yukon Tiny House plans created by Robinson Residential.
The Yukon is a territory in Northern Canada, bordering Alaska to the west. Its pristine geography is mountainous accented with rivers and spruce forests. The long cold winters and abundance of trees inspired us to design a wood cabin, the smallest home in the series.
To simplify construction, this cabin is built with SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) and clad on both the exterior and interior with square wood planks and authentic chinking. The covered front porch offers a great vantage spot for watching the spectacular northern lights. The cozy living room has a large stone fireplace that extends up into the vaulted ceiling overhead.
There is a compact bath tucked out of the way near the ship’s ladder to the second floor bedroom. The kitchen is just the right size for two to cook and dine. The total floor area is 392 square feet – perfect for a tiny get away. Imagine the ambiance on a cool evening with the snow falling and the wind howling outside and the fire crackling inside.

As promised, this is the Nova Scotia Small Home floor plan by Robinson Residential.
It’s the first of 13 Canada-inspired designs by John Robinson, and you can purchase the plans you’ll see below on his website here. He wrote us:
Nova Scotia is one of the eastern maritime provinces and know for it’s picturesque ocean views and historic townsites. The Nova Scotia plan is an interpretation of an iconic light house, which still remain along the Atlantic coast. The main floor includes a compact kitchen, dining area with a window seat, and a ¾ bathroom. We have maximized built-in storage where ever possible. The second floor is the bedroom, which has space for a washer/dryer, closet and built in cabinetry. On the top floor we designed wrap around windows and built in seating with storage underneath. Imagine the panoramic vies of sunrises and sunsets from this space…We can modify these plans to suit particular situations as well.

You might remember Robinson Residential’s work from their amazing Dragonfly 20 Tiny House.
Designer John Robinson just got in touch with us to tell us about a new design series of his: 13 small homes inspired by one of the ten provinces and 3 territories of Canada to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary!
Canada has a very diverse terrain and culture and I want to highlight those unique aspects with these homes. These designs are between 250 and 700 square feet, and provide unique living spaces for people, who want to live in something that is not ordinary and experience architecture of other locales.
These homes will likely not be as affordable as many people will request, but by building them themselves and re-using existing materials, there are potential cost savings. We will offer very detailed construction drawings for these homes so that self builds are possible and practical. The plans follow most building codes but zoning issues may remain in some areas for homes of this size.
We are launching these plans every Friday and will continue doing so for the next 10 weeks…We can modify these plans to suit particular situations as well.
So come Tiny House Talk each week to see the latest from Robinson Designs, starting with the Nova Scotia and Alberta A frame plans that have already been released.

This is the 592 Sq. Ft. Hummingbird Cottage built for a family’s mother-in-law by Ralph Jones Home Plans, LLC.
Janne Zaccagnino created the plans for the home and normally doesn’t see the finished product, but because she knew the owner she was able to take pictures of the completed home, which she shared with us!
At almost 600 sq. ft., it’s certainly a “small” house rather than tiny, but I think it could make a great retirement cottage. Contact info at the bottom!
