Nixie’s off-grid tiny house sits in a magical woodland setting overlooking a pond filled with lily pads and little creatures. Incredibly, her “remote” parking spot in rural Queensland is only 15 minutes from town, allowing her all the joys of nature while still having access to the conveniences of 2024. After a stint of skoolie life with a friend, Nixie realized she didn’t need all her stuff! So she decided to downsize.

She knew exactly what she wanted from a home, and that was a white, minimalist space with plenty of room for all her plants! Working with a builder, she was able to make her dreams come to life! Enjoy the tour of her sleek space below.

Cat and her daughter lived in an apartment in Brisbane, when they were told they had to leave within 8 weeks because the landlord sold the apartment. That and the rising cost of rent was the final straw that convinced Cat to get back to her roots and back out to the countryside!

After designing the perfect tiny house for the two of them, they moved the Eucalyptus-green THOW onto a friend’s gorgeous property in Queensland, Australia. It has everything the two of them need, including space for all her daughter’s toys (her daughter didn’t want to downsize them). What do you think of this lovely tiny house?

This is the Swallowtail Tiny House on Wheels by The Tiny House Company out of Queensland, Australia.

Two key factors drive the layout of this model – flexibility and affordability. A drop-down loft ladder allows for a relatively open floor plan, giving maximum options for arranging your own space as you see fit. The layout and positioning of doors and windows, while maximising long views and air-flow, allows for future expansion of cabinetry and other built-in elements as your budget allows.1
