This is the story of how a nomadic couple, Molly and Al, have gone from living on the road in their converted bus to living in a homestead on their own land in New Zealand.

When you go through their homestead you’ll see they still have their house truck. In addition, you’ll find they have tiny structures throughout that serve a variety of purposes to meet their needs. You’ll also see the Molly and Al are now growing their own food, using solar and wind power, and more. Please enjoy, learn more, and re-share below. Thank you!

When 22 year old Lily Kemp wanted to escape the trap of high rent in New Zealand she made a $1000 vintage pop-up camping trailer her affordable tiny housing solution.

Today she parks it in someone’s backyard and pays much, much less in rent. According to Living Big in a Tiny House, she now even has enough free time and money to take months off of work during summers to enjoy life and relax. Pretty cool, right?

As far as the camper goes, this is the most homey pop up camping tailer I’ve ever seen! Inside you’ll find a tiny kitchen, sleeping area, and dinette. I think she’s really smart for doing this, don’t you? She found a way to live simply on much less money than most people and she’s enjoying the process too. I see a bright future for her! How about you? What are your thoughts on living in a tiny pop up camper?

About a year ago I introduced you to Shaye and Tom thanks to the people over at Living Big in a Tiny House. I love this story because this couple decided to ‘just go for it’ and take advantage of the benefits of tiny house living early in their life. They’re now enjoying more freedom and are building a life on their own terms.

Right now I’m here to give you an update on them since a lot has changed for them after living in their tiny house for one year. They now have a newborn daughter named Hazel. Their tiny house has a new porch and it’s fully decorated inside. And if you really like their house you can even buy the plans to build one just like it yourself.

This transforming castle house truck was designed and built by a young family who live off grid in it. They live in New Zealand and travel often. But once they find a parking space, their house truck expands incredibly.

I’m absolutely amazed by this project. I’m almost speechless after watching the video below. You’ll have to see it for yourself below to really understand how incredible this tiny house is. Unbelievably, this tiny expanding house truck has…

  • A rooftop bathtub.
  • An upstairs open balcony space.
  • A separate shower downstairs.
  • A separate toilet room downstairs.
  • Solar panels.
  • A Large kitchen.

And more. Much more. You really have to see it to understand.

Brenda Kelly’s off grid shipping container tiny house is truly a dream come true for her since she has been dreaming of a home like this since she was a 13 year old girl.

She kept part of the container as a covered outdoor porch area to keep the structure at 107 sq. ft. (10 square meters) so she can abide with her local zoning regulations in Auckland, New Zealand.

When you look inside I think you’ll be impressed with her interior design and layout choices. Brenda has managed to create a work at home office space, kitchen, living room area, a bedroom with a wardrobe, and a spacious bathroom.

This container home sits on concrete blocks for a foundation, it’s powered by two solar panels, and is even set up with a rainwater collection system.

I like knowing that small houses are gaining momentum in other parts of the world and this tiny house that has just been accepted into this eco-friendly and sustainable community in New Zealand proves that the demand for smaller homes is continuing to grow.

In this post, Bryce Langston and Melissa Nickerson take us on a journey to a place called EarthSong Eco-Neighbourhood in Auckland, New Zealand where this woman is living the simple life in her mortgage-free 121 square foot tiny house on wheels.

If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Where would I put a mobile micro-home if I did build or buy one?” this video is one way to answer that question.

As you’ll see below, this community is full of sustainably designed homes and micro homesteads with permaculture and farming in place.

And now it is home to one of New Zealand’s first trailer tiny homes with a seemingly wonderfully happy owner/dweller. The micro home was built using Tumbleweed’s plans.

Eco-Community Accepts It’s First Tiny House

Isn’t it great to see the idea catching on around the world?

I find it encouraging and hope to continue seeing it gain momentum.

This way we can begin seeing tiny living communities being developed and legal tiny living lots being offered in areas where they are desired by people like us.

Enjoy the rest of the photo tour and video tour of this home and the Eco-Community it’s in below:

Our tiny house friends from New Zealand are at it again with another amazing tiny house tour.

Bryce Langston of Living Big in a Tiny House visits Brett Sutherland who just finished his 161 sq. ft. debt-free tiny home.

He was living in the Caribbean for many years and wanted to return home to New Zealand.

But Brett feared that if he had to rent a place to stay he’d lose all of his savings as soon as he returned home.

So instead of renting or buying a normal home, he looked into mortgage-free options and decided on building his own tiny mobile villa and named it the NV.

I love all type of creative and innovative designs and when I ran into this awesome bus from New Zealand I just had to share it with you.

First off, it has just about everything you need including a very spacious kitchen which I think they designed wonderfully.

It has a modern design with a real taste of New Zealand in it, the pictures really make me want to be inside and it looks like the furniture/appliances give an awesome vibe to it.

I encourage you to take a look for yourself down below:

I love how they even have a jet ski to take with them. Ultimate adventure package.
