This $695,000 tiny A-frame cabin is modern and luxurious. The home and property offers amazing views with a wonderful outdoor spa.

Located on Waiheke Island, in New Zealand, it’s definitely a one-of-a-kind property. From here you can take a three minute drive to the beach, a nearby shopping village, or the grocery store.

The pricing definitely doesn’t fall in line with the word affordable, but the inspiration it offers costs us nothing, right? So I’m still excited to bring it to your attention. And if you are financially wealthy and want to downsize, this is an awesome option, isn’t it?

Want to try out tiny living? Check out this rustic modern tiny house you can rent using Airbnb.

It’s located in Portland, Oregon in a great area close to restaurants and shops. The owner’s built this tiny house using 80% reclaimed materials.

Inside you will see there is a couch that unfolds to a bed in the living area with neat Mason jar lighting. The vaulted ceilings and large windows make this tiny house seem very spacious.

The kitchen has lots of counter space and there is a stove/oven so you can prepare meals if you like. The bathroom is just beyond the kitchen.

Up the ladder, above the kitchen and bathroom, you will find the sleeping loft with a cozy queen size bed.

I love the way they decorated and used the wood on the celing to give this tiny home a cozy feel. There is a beautiful surrounding garden outside the tiny house. Please enjoy and share below.

Designed by YUUA Architects in Japan, this miniature home is only about 5 feet, 11 inches wide and slightly over 36 feet tall, about the height of a three story home. With its clean and minimalist design, each room in this house serves a single, well-defined purpose and makes small space living a treat. In fact, most rooms have their own floor.

Entrance into the building grants you access to the ground floor, where you are immediately greeted by a set of stairs. Choose between going to the basement and discovering a surprising amount of storage space, and going upstairs to the study lounge. The unvarnished wooden floor in the study lounge gives the area a modern rustic vibe. Another quarter-flight of stairs leads you to a small bedroom, which has enough space only for a small bed.

By now you’ll notice that walking up the stairs allows you to see where the ceiling of one story becomes the floor of another, as the ceiling/floor is only about a foot thick.

People often wonder if tiny houses are practical for families. They might work for an individual or a couple, but what happens when a baby comes into the picture?

Macy Miller had her first child while living in the beautiful, modern tiny house on wheels she designed and built herself. She knew the house made sense for the way she used space, and was excited to have a home of her own without taking out a mortgage. She wasn’t actively planning to have children when she designed the home, but she made sure her design could accommodate an additional room, just in case. When I visited her last spring, she was happy with the house as it was, but was also open to making changes in the future based on what her family needed:

Macy: I did consider all the options, even having a kid. My life could have gone any number of directions, so I designed it to be very flexible. I designed the porch so it could be enclosed, so if I wanted more privacy, I could have a separate bedroom, or it could be a little nursery. I thought about doing it, but I love my porch, and I don’t need it: kids want to be around their parents… There may be a point that it makes sense for her to have a separate space, and I enclose that patio and it becomes her room.

Today I ran into a modern yet creative small space I think you’ll like. Check out Ryan and Tony’s funky and cool Brooklyn loft with a view. They share this space with roommates.

Ryan says, “That’s how we afford this cool place. Sometimes there’s just two of us here, other times four or five.”

There are three bedrooms that they rent out. While the eclectic living area and kitchen are the common gathering place for everyone.

Inside this Brooklyn loft they have decorated and used a lot of space saving furniture and items from Ikea.

I want to share with you this 226 sq. ft. lake house cabin that’s situated on a narrow island in Loosdrecht Lake in the Netherlands. This island is so small it’s barely wide enough to fit the house!

When building the lake house the architects kept in mind the location which is on a nature preserve. They kept the exterior simple so it would not detract from the surrounding environment. Inside the cabin everything is simple and free of visual clutter.

With different floor levels for the living and dining room you can enjoy unique views of the surrounding area. At night the living area transforms into the sleeping space.

Along one side of the cabin is the built-in service wall. It’s home to the compartmented kitchen, bathroom and storage.

Check out the photos below to explore this unique recreational lake house cabin.
