If like me you’ve been wanting to see more tiny house communities come to life you’ll probably really enjoy this post (and the videos below).
Because projects like this can serve as a model for any of us to follow or at least learn from to create more tiny living micro communities around the world.
I like the idea of independent ‘micro’ communities created by relatively small groups of people who exchange labor with each other to keep building costs low.
But if you wanted (or the group wanted) the land could also eventually serve as a learning center, farm, sustainable living learning center, etc.

I’m just saying wouldn’t it be great if more people decided to live in this way, no matter what age? I think so.

This Cargo Trailer Converted to Homey, Cozy, Off-Grid RV is a guest post by Elizabeth Kelch
One trend in the tiny living movement is converted cargo trailers. The advantages to this are;
- they’re lighter weight,
- more easily mobile,
- and can often be used for free by ‘stealth camping’.
I recently got the guts to take the leap and I bought a 7×12 insulated cargo trailer and converted it to an off-grid micro RV. My tiny RV is designed for one person, maybe a couple, because I wanted to keep it very simple and lightweight but there’s no reason I couldn’t apply the same principles to an 8×20 trailer.

A Guest Post by Ethan – (Send us your tiny house story)
You might have last heard from me back in October/November about the first tiny home that my girlfriend Kelsey and I built and lived in outside of Austin Texas on an organic farm.
Well since that time my girlfriend and I were asked if we would be interested in selling our house and since I had already been considering building another one because building the first was so much fun we decided to take the offer on our house.
The man who bought our house also lived in our city and was interested in actually joining us in living on the farm in the house and paying the house off over time and since we had been wanting to expand the tiny house area of the farm which is called “Tiny Town” we thought that was a wonderful idea.
This conversation was had in late November and so we instantly got to work on the second house, because the first house was going to it’s new owner at the end of February.

According to the Huffington Post Kayla Feenstra is a landscaper who’s found a way to live better without a mortgage.
She designed and built the home of her dreams. It just happens to be a mortgage-free tiny home of just 130 square feet.
It’s been nicknamed, “Jack in a Box.” And she built it for just $15,000 and two months of labor. It was built right onto a trailer.
So if she ever wants to move she can simply tow and go. Especially since she doesn’t own her own land.

This is the story of a creative young lad who invented and built his own bicycle-powered ELEVATOR to get up to his tiny treehouse cabin which is built way up in the trees. Pretty incredible!
The story goes like this… Ethan got sick of climbing the ladder dozens of times a day to and from his self-built treehouse. So he did what anyone who owns a self-built treehouse would do… (kidding?) He built a cheap DIY elevator out of a bicycle!
So now when friends visit they can simply use the ladder… Or they can have a lot more fun this way. In this post, you’re going to get to see Ethan’s DIY treehouse, his DIY elevator, and briefly, how it was done.
