I’ve never seen such a colorful container home! This former Airbnb in Florida is largely yellow, with blue and green frames painted around the doors and windows. It really makes the outside feel tropical.
You walk through the French doors and the interior is much more modern. There’s an open-concept sleek, spacious kitchen/living area followed by the bathroom, and then finally a private bedroom. The doors on each end open up, one set with nature views. Tell us what you think!
After suffering sexual assault, Sally found herself feeling unsafe in her three-bedroom home. She would need to check closets and bedrooms to make sure they were clear. But now that she’s downsized into a tiny container home, she feels at peace in her surroundings filled with artwork.
Her home has all she needs and with rent at just $500/month, Sally doesn’t have to worry about her finances anymore. She has a little pool on her rooftop deck, a comfy front porch, and there’s a Murphy Bed indoors so no ladders for her. Enjoy the tour below.
What was once an insulated semitruck trailer has been transformed by a master carpenter into a tiny house on wheels (with a downstairs bedroom!) and it’s for sale!
The home is 40 feet long by 8 feet wide, and includes a beautiful l-shaped kitchen with open shelving, a living area where you can easily fit a comfortable couch, and a bathroom complete with a tiled walk-in shower.
It’s available on the Big Island in Hawaii for $100,000. You can contact the seller here.
Although the container is cool in its own right, it’s even better because it was created by Boxouse, a company designing “portable, affordable, beautiful smart homes” in California:
Inspired by portable, modular shipping containers and fed up with paying rising rents in San Francisco for non ideal housing we set out to redefine the landscape in which we lived and rethink housing for modern aspirations.
Boxouse started on a vacant lot in 2013 and quickly grew into a community of friends who all shared a common goal of experimenting with sustainability and building. We still run all our production out of beautiful Oakland California.
