  Has some appealing features, like the bathroom to the left of the entry, etc. However, a bed pulling out from under the kitchen floor, so low to the floor, would rule me out. Would be hard to clean where the bed is stored. Cannot tell if it is a twin, 3/4, or double. If this were an alternate bed, for kids or company, it might be a good idea. I have had a 17′ pull unit, with a flip down sofa/bed which was high up and very comfortable. I like what they have done, but for me it would just a step above sleeping on the floor. Others may think differently, and that is what it is all about. Different beds for different heads…..

  At 16 feet long, this is fairly small, so fitting everything in is a challenge. The bed that slides under the kitchen is a great solution. Just tuck in your blankets and hide it away. Good for people who can easily get up off the floor, and don’t mind a step up to the kitchen.

  way too much money for this. Who wants a garage door in the kitchen. Not many pictures on either site. A slide out bed under the kitchen is a big no for me. If there was ever a water leak your bed would be ruined. Plus I would feel like I’m sleeping on the floor.

    The garage door appeals to people who want the space to open up to the outdoors, typically they’ll add a deck and being near the kitchen makes it convenient to entertain and serve drinks and food to guests or just bring out something to drink and/or a snack as you relax on your deck and enjoy the view… Essentially, it’s helping to alleviate how small the space may feel when you can connect it to the outdoors for a much more open and spacious feeling but you can go with french doors instead or just a large picture window. The folding type of window could be an option to still service a deck space but would mean walking around to get to it…

    While the trundle bed is to save space and is an alternative to a loft. However, it’s still on a bed platform and not on the floor, the kitchen is actually 2 steps up for a better idea of the height of the bed, the three cubbies in front of the bed is actually a step, if that helps…

    You could make it higher but that would mean adding more steps to get to the kitchen…

    There are always trade offs, so just depends what trade offs you’re willing to deal with…

  Lacking closet space, this would not work for me, though a pull-out bed would not be a problem. However, to alleviate some negativity, perhaps the bed could pull out and then up? Getting in and out of the bed from the side with the step in front of it would be much more of an issue for me. Interesting space-saving design, though.

    Oh that’s a great idea. I used to have a trundle under my bed that pulled out and then popped up. It would be perfect for this house.
