These waterfront off-grid tiny houses are in an eco-resort in Rimouski, Québec, Canada.

The resort is called Domaine Floravie and it consists of a total of 7 tiny houses on the shores of the Saint Lawrence River.

Each cabin is off-grid ready. They each have 285 watt solar panels to power the refrigerators and lights. Propane is used for the heater, stove, and water heater.

These tiny cabins are built at 10′ width using local materials, hemp insulation, and natural oil finishes. When you go inside two of the cabins in the video below, Danielle and Mat, of Exploring Alternatives, will show you a model with an upstairs sleeping loft and another version with a bed downstairs. This is a shipping container skyscraper concept in Mumbai, India designed by Ganti Associates.

The idea is to create an adequate housing solution for people of the densely populated Dharavi area, which is one of the largest slums in the world.

The design of the high-rise structure is proposed to be approximately 32 stories high and each apartment consists of 3 standard size 320 sq. ft. (40’ long x 8’6” high x 8’ wide) shipping containers. Pretty amazing, right?
