These are the Yukon Tiny House plans created by Robinson Residential.

The Yukon is a territory in Northern Canada, bordering Alaska to the west. Its pristine geography is mountainous accented with rivers and spruce forests. The long cold winters and abundance of trees inspired us to design a wood cabin, the smallest home in the series.

To simplify construction, this cabin is built with SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) and clad on both the exterior and interior with square wood planks and authentic chinking. The covered front porch offers a great vantage spot for watching the spectacular northern lights. The cozy living room has a large stone fireplace that extends up into the vaulted ceiling overhead.

There is a compact bath tucked out of the way near the ship’s ladder to the second floor bedroom. The kitchen is just the right size for two to cook and dine. The total floor area is 392 square feet – perfect for a tiny get away. Imagine the ambiance on a cool evening with the snow falling and the wind howling outside and the fire crackling inside.

This is the Cozy Container Cabin where you can take an Airbnb vacation in Oakland, CA.

Although the container is cool in its own right, it’s even better because it was created by Boxouse, a company designing “portable, affordable, beautiful smart homes” in California:

Inspired by portable, modular shipping containers and fed up with paying rising rents in San Francisco for non ideal housing we set out to redefine the landscape in which we lived and rethink housing for modern aspirations.

Boxouse started on a vacant lot in 2013 and quickly grew into a community of friends who all shared a common goal of experimenting with sustainability and building. We still run all our production out of beautiful Oakland California.

Want to get a taste for their work? Book your stay! More details below the pictures.

This is a Massachusetts Minim Tiny House that’s for sale in Andover, MA.

Completed at the beginning of 2015, this modern tiny house was built using the plans for the original Minim house. The Minim design contains a number of unique elements, including a roll-out bed & office in lieu of the traditional lofted bedroom, an extra 2 1/2 feet of width, an open “studio” feel and multiple banks of large windows. The house was built with high-quality finishes including high-grade cedar siding, professionally finished drywall, bamboo flooring, cherry kitchen cabinets and black walnut table and desk and has been well maintained over the past two years. The house is now ready for a new owner.

Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions, or would like to schedule a viewing. The house is currently situated in Massachusetts but can be shipped (at buyer’s expense) across state lines.

Mat and Danielle from Exploring Alternatives spent a day at the Storstac Inc. shipping container yard in Toronto, Canada to learn the ins and outs of building with new and used shipping containers.

While building with shipping containers is not necessarily cheaper than conventional building, it does have advantages because containers are modular, mobile, durable, and they have a unique, modern look.

They can be do it yourself friendly if you’ve worked with steel before, or if you find a company to take care of the steel work for you so that you can focus on framing and finishing it from the inside.

This is the Lake View Extended 400 sq. ft. park model from Dave Bates and Portable Cedar Cabins in Spirit Lake Idaho.

According to Janet from Tiny Portable Cedar Cabins:

The Lake View Extended has a 20′ covered deck in front with recessed lighting and a ceiling fan. There is a bedroom on the ground floor with french doors that go out to a back 8′ deck. Over the 8′ deck is 14′ X 8′ storage area…The video shows a large 14′ X 16′ loft with a 14′ X 8′ storage area behind the loft. Just a reminder, the floor plans can be customized to your needs and dreams. You can also design it where there is not a separate storage room and the loft extends over the back deck.

Get additional details, price and contact information below the pictures. Don’t miss the video tour, and as always, enjoy!
