Lee has always loved small spaces, even living aboard a sailboat for a time, but she ultimately chose a conventional home while raising her daughter to give her a stable childhood. For 15 years, she planned the perfect empty-nester space, including a room for her daughter “just in case.” And good thing she did! Even though her daughter said she’d never live tiny, in 2020, she moved in and fell in love with tiny living.

For Lee, a bibliophile, it was of utmost importance that she have enough space for her books — and that she does! Her walls are lined with bookshelves, and she’s surrounded by the things she loves. Enjoy the tour of this beautiful home below.

Nixie’s off-grid tiny house sits in a magical woodland setting overlooking a pond filled with lily pads and little creatures. Incredibly, her “remote” parking spot in rural Queensland is only 15 minutes from town, allowing her all the joys of nature while still having access to the conveniences of 2024. After a stint of skoolie life with a friend, Nixie realized she didn’t need all her stuff! So she decided to downsize.

She knew exactly what she wanted from a home, and that was a white, minimalist space with plenty of room for all her plants! Working with a builder, she was able to make her dreams come to life! Enjoy the tour of her sleek space below.

Do you remember the Stella Ruby we showed off last week? Here’s another iteration of Teacup Tiny Home‘s popular Ruby layout, the Gaia. This THOW was built for a couple in New Brunswick, Canada, and despite the white shiplap interior, it’s filled with bold color! The customer chose stunning hunter green for all the cabinets in the home, giving the space a cozy, natural feel.

The exterior siding is a deep charcoal, complemented by a bright yellow door! Tons of windows with muntins give the space a classic feel. The home has two lofts on either end, and the main loft can be completely private from the rest of the house, with a sliding door at the bottom of the back staircase leading up to the room. What do you think of this design?

When Cheryl retired after 30 years as a public school teacher, she was living in a 1,400-square-foot home. Having raised her son as a single mom, she was ready for something new. She knew the only way she could afford a tiny house would be to build it herself, so she found a workshop with Incredible Tiny Homes. The company built a shell to her specifications, then she and some friends stayed on site to finish the interior.

Although the house is only 140 square feet with a small storage loft, it has everything she needs. She even fit in her sewing machine, a sewing table, and all her supplies. After seven years of tiny living in two different communities, she’s now at The Bird’s Nest in Texas.

About 60 minutes from Downtown Dallas in the city of Cumby, Texas, lies The Bird’s Nest, a tiny house community started by a tiny house-dweller who wanted a way to invest her 401K. Robyn was already living tiny in another community, so she knew how supportive and special tiny house villages can be.

Right now, the village has five female occupants, and Robyn said it’s become a safe place for women to empower and encourage one another! Supportive men are always welcome, and she has 10 more concrete pads ready for tiny homes or RVs for a 12-month lease. She intentionally keeps the lot rent low, at $450/month, including everything but electricity and propane.

Eric and Ashley have been living nomadically for four years. The first three years they spent in a low-top van conversion, before spending 6 months converting a box truck into their home on wheels. The truck gave them space to stand, and they were happy to build out a vehicle with square walls!

They both have remote jobs and choose to travel now while they have health and mobility, rather than waiting for “someday”. At first, they thought they’d only be on the road for a year, but now they can’t imagine giving up the freedom that nomadic life affords them. Check out their awesome rig below!
