This is the story of Naval architect Kurt Hughes and the incredible sci-fi tiny house that he built which is a replica of a Lunar Lander spacecraft designed to for a Moon landing. This isn’t the first time that Hughes has built something out of the ordinary, but he’s been working on this project for the last seven years (on weekends) using inspiration and his experience from the world of boat construction. Kurt’s Lunar Lander Sci-Fi tiny house is located in Beverly, Washington and he currently uses it as a getaway/vacation cabin.
This is very likely one of the most unique, innovative, and interesting tiny homes we’ve gotten to show you this year. Our biggest thanks to Jenna over at Tiny House Giant Journey and her popular and awesome YouTube Channel for allowing us to collaborate and share this with you. This is Jenna’s new tiny house porch! She just moved her tiny home to a new location, in the woods, so it was just the right time to finally fulfill her dream of adding a covered porch to her tiny house build! And it looks so awesome, doesn’t it??
That’s one of the things about homeownership, you really never stop making improvements, right? Well, it’s the same with tiny home ownership, too, which is why Jenna, of Tiny House Giant Journey, added this beautiful new covered porch to her tiny house on wheels after securing a cozy new spot in the woods. This is the Boho White Tiny House on Wheels from ESCAPE. It’s the new Boho design with a white finish on the inside. It looks pretty nice, doesn’t it?
The Boho features a one-level design with an open-concept studio-style floor plan. When you step inside, you’ve got your kitchen, living area with fold-flat couch, a dining table that folds away when you don’t need it, your main-floor bed, and your bathroom. Can you imagine yourself living tiny in this design?

This is one couple’s fisherman’s tiny cottage in Ballard. It’s a backyard tiny home they built which was featured over at the Seattle Backyard Cottage blog. I love backyard tiny homes like this because they’re a wonderful way to (legally) get more small and tiny houses built.
This idea reminds me of the article we did on the city who is encouraging homeowners to build backyard tiny homes. It’s such a great idea, isn’t it? This is Matt and Lisa’s mind-blowing tiny home on wheels. It features a jet black exterior finish which compliments the modern design. Their tiny house also has an abundance of large windows including skylights along the entire roof. You can tell right away that this is a very special and one-of-a-kind tiny home. One of the most unique features about it is the double shower in the bathroom. Yes, this tiny house has two showers in the same bathroom. As it turns out, Matt is a professional bathroom remodeler/builder.
Another unique feature of this tiny house is the extra ceiling height which allows you to stand up before laying down in bed in your loft. I love this! So if you sometimes feel claustrophobic I think it might be different in this loft, what do you think? Currently, the top comment on the Living Big In A Tiny House YouTube video tour for this home reads, “This is probably the most beautiful tiny house ever.” What do you think, is it true?
