This is Nadia’s Tiny Appalache built for her by La Tiny House in France. The stunning build features one of the best living room arrangements I’ve seen with a partial-loft (plenty of headroom!) with a sectional sofa and a hidden guest room tucked underneath!

The main bedroom is located in the loft, and there’s also a full kitchen and 3/4 bathroom. Nadia chose a tiny house so she could move closer to family, and now she has a place to read books (her passion) and welcome guests.

This is an Escape Vista tiny house with a bedside pop up TV (and lots of storage) that was just built and headed to Hudson Valley in New York. Have you heard of cityscaping? It’s a new term for people getting out of large, crowded cities for obvious reasons.

According to recent statistics, thousands of people have fled New York City, and other large cities, during the last few months. Some are actually buying tiny homes and setting them up outside of the city. Real estate websites are also seeing a huge uptick in searches for smaller towns. By the way, please don’t miss the video tour of this unit at the bottom of this article.

Meet Jay Blackmore (@floatinthekoots) and his incredible DIY Off-Grid Floating Home that he spent four years building in his “spare” time.

Not only did he build it, but he also designed the entire thing and did all the work except the electrical and gas hookups (probably wise!). The home is about 700 square feet and includes an open concept living room and kitchen, and a second floor with two bedrooms. The home is heated in the freezing Canada winters by his pellet stove (or a back-up propane heater) and even some gas lamps!

Make sure to watch the video from Exploring Alternatives to hear Jay explain his incredible closed-loop system for his gray water!

This is Julien and Cindy’s incredible Château Peredvizhnik, which Baluchon (@tinyhousebaluchon), a tiny house builder in France, built for them.

The most notable feature of this home is the large picture window in the back of the THOW that follows the roof’s pitch and lets in oodles of natural light. The sage green color painted around the window on the interior makes it feel one with nature outside.

Another neat part of this house? It has a projector screen that pulls from a hatch in the loft bedroom floor! Enjoy the photo tour below.

Annina and Pascal wanted to live off-the-grid and found this amazing 10-acre piece of property in New Zealand which they’ve been transforming into a fully self-reliant homestead.

They live in the 40 ft. shipping container home, use the second shipping container for a garage and built a geo-dome greenhouse for starting some of the many plants they’re cultivating outside.

The couple installed an incredible solar array, but discovered they were gathering more sun energy than they needed! So instead of paying for gasoline for a car, they got an electric vehicle they can charge for free. Living Big in a Tiny House did an awesome video interview with the couple, so be sure to watch it to learn more about their off-grid container home!

If you’re looking for a tiny house that’s not on wheels, one of the tiny home kits from Summerwood Products might be the perfect option! They have an abundance of style options with window & door upgrades, options for decks and dormers, and even choices between pre-cut kits and pre-assembled kits for some models.

These are essentially tiny home shells that you can then finish out however you’d like them in terms of floor plan and finishes. I went through their site and found six awesome choices (although there are many more) and listed them below from cheapest to most expensive.

You’ll be on the hook for electrical and plumbing options, but you can truly make these your very own! If you buy now the homes are all 30% off due to their 30 Year Anniversary sale. Prices listed below include the discount.

Maud is a traveler and wanted a home that could move with her, so she asked La Tiny Homes in France to design an ecologically-friendly tiny house on wheels.

The result was a cozy and warm tiny home with tons of built-in storage for clothing, books, and everything else you’d need. The couch downstairs even becomes a second sleeping area for guests. Enjoy the photo tour!

Meet Mariëlle and Chris and their lovely DIY Tiny House which is parked in a lush green corner of a local Nudist Club in New Zealand that needed some extra income to help pay the bills! While the couple aren’t nudists themselves, it ended up being a perfect place for their 10 x 26 tiny house on wheels.

Because Mariëlle and Chris are from two different countries, they wanted a home that wasn’t tied down. They built this red-clad tiny house out of SIPs (structurally insulated panels) during about 3 months which they took off from work to focus on the home. The total cost for the project was around $27,000 USD (or $45,000 in New Zealand dollars).

Living Big in a Tiny House did a wonderful video tour and interview with the couple, so be sure to watch the whole thing and learn about their epic waste recycle system and bee-keeping!
