Dan’s very first project on his property was his “Mancave.” He never dreamed that someone would want to stay in it, but when a friend recommended he put it on Airbnb, it became a popular destination.
That’s when Dan started getting creative: He built a mini-village inside an airplane hangar, and then constructed a yurt, and then went on to build the TREEHOUSE yurt, which includes an elevator, hot tub and resident Alpacas for you to meet and greet.
He’s currently constructing Woodstock, where you can stay in a vintage VW bus and play music on his stage. You have to watch the interview with Tiny House Giant Journey to “meet” the wonderful Dan and his vacation world.

Skip and Dan found the perfect property on Vashon Island (which is only accessible via ferry!) to put the treehouse they’d been dreaming of. It looks out over the ocean and is tucked in a canopy of beautiful trees.
Because of its remote location, there’s an outhouse and outdoor shower and just enough electricity for a mini-fridge and charging small electronics, making it the perfect place to truly get away from it all.
Up a ladder is a luxurious queen bed that just might make you feel like a kid again. The huge garage door opens up on the first level to the wrap-around deck where you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee, or evening glass of wine. Enjoy the tour with Tiny House Giant Journey below, and book your stay over at Airbnb!

Ok, so we’ve all had a bad experience trying to put together IKEA furniture, BUT, it sure beats the effort of building your own furniture from scratch or spending a fortune on something fancy you can buy at a furniture store. Van Lab’s DIY kits are similar — you don’t have to go through all the trouble of a DIY van build, OR spend tons of money on a professional to do it for you.
The birch pieces come to you — pre-cut — with instructions. All you need are a couple of power drills to put it all together, and it could be done in about 3 hours (but let’s be honest, probably a full day with a bit of cursing trying to find the right piece). They even have an option that includes electrical wiring so you can have a luxury battery for charging phones and laptops.
Right now they have kits for three van models — the Nissan NV 200; Chevy City Express; and the Ford Transit LWB — but are working on additional kits for other popular vans. Take a look at the pictures below, and get details on their website here.

Maddie never wanted to fit in the box and do things the way others do them, but it was the pandemic that finally allowed her to chase her dream of living and travelling in her van. Her work finally went remote, and she hit the road.
Besides her medical coding job, Maddie also creates beautiful jewelry. She created an awesome table and benches that pull out from the garage where she can do her jewelry work. Inside she has a hidden cassette toilet, induction stove top and lots of room for all her clothes!

After Nicole lost her mother, her entire perspective on life changed and she and her husband, Charlie, jumped into a bus conversion so they could travel more.
Neither of them had ever used power tools, but you’d never know from looking at their Outback-inspired build! It has a stunning kitchen complete with an oven and butcher block countertop, and the mini woodstove keeps their place warm and toasty.
The most impressive part of the build, though, has to be their huge shower with skylight! I’ve never seen anything like it in a skoolie before. Watch the full Tiny Home Tour below!

Meet Vicki: For the better part of a decade she’s been downsizing from her 1,800 square foot home. First down to around 600 and then to 400, and then to about 250 square feet when she retired.
But after three years living tiny, she decided she’d like an addition for guests like her son. And perhaps down the road she’ll choose to sleep down there rather than in her loft bedroom. I love that she isn’t allowing rules or perceptions to keep her from having a home that works for her and her needs!
She has her home in a lovely park in Tennessee, and there’s a huge deck with an outdoor shower overlooking woodlands. Enjoy the Tiny Home Tour below.
