Get ready for a wild ride with this awesome family! Jake, Gianna and their daughter first set out with van life in 2018. When Gianna found out she was expecting again, they upgraded to a bus. But after three years on the road, the family ultimately decided to “settle down” again and purchased a home, build out buses and vans for work, and run a glamping business opening this fall!

Hillary raised her three children on her own since they were 6, 4 and 2, and while her job in law enforcement provided for them, it was never enough for Hillary to save for retirement. Once her kids were grown and out of the house, she chose tiny living so she could retire comfortably!
She was able to pay cash for her THOW and has no mortgage — only the monthly land rental fee she pays to her landlords. Her two older animals — a dog and cat — live with her and enjoy her fenced-in yard. And she calls it “cheating,” but Hillary also has a shed on the property for her seasonal clothes, a deep-freezer and extra pantry goods.

Meet Sarah and Trevor and Persephone the Van, their home on the road for over a year and a half. They spent a total of three years on the road, having had another van before that.
While they now own a home and animal rescue, this is the story of their stealth and simple van life. They spent that time traveling the country and finding something upsetting — lots and lots of litter in beautiful spaces. They made it their mission to pick up as much trash as possible and return these natural wonders to their former glory.
They kept their van simple and stealthy, but they found what worked for them! They even took out a large built-in with a farmhouse sink because they never used the sink. The rest of their materials are recycled and reclaimed. Pretty great!

Candyss was used to her life being defined by her military and police force obligations, so when she decided to transition out of that career, she had to find what freedom meant for her.
That led her to van life! She started traveling during the pandemic and now is on the road full-time. She didn’t bother with a huge kitchen because she doesn’t cook, and instead she made space for the things she wants (her clothes, beauty products and awesome giant plant). This Airbnb host owns a 5-acre working organic farm and was looking for her next step post-hairstyling career. She found this 1974 Airstream that was dump-bound and saw tons of potential (that no one else saw!). As money allowed she was able to hire folks to help her revitalize the Airstream and ultimately turned it into a luxurious Airbnb oasis on her farm.
The trailer sits under a large canopy and has a sitting area, kitchen and bedroom inside. The outdoor covered bathroom area is right next to it, with a beautiful rainfall shower, flush toilet and all the amenities. You can enjoy dinner on the covered deck or nearby patio as well.

Indigo River Tiny Homes just finished up this 28 ft. “Pioneer” model tiny house for someone in Oklahoma. The new owners chose a bold red cabinet color that really brightens their THOW interior!
It features an open-concept floor plan, with a Murphy bed and oodles of built-ins on one side of the tiny house, and a galley kitchen and full bathroom with a stacked washer/dryer on the other. Pretty awesome!

When Dee needed a home post-divorce, she chose this fantastic Ford Transit van, which she turned into her “Lady Bug Out” house on wheels. She has her space for traveling and heads back to her 14-year-old son’s house when it’s time to have him. That way, he never has to move homes, but she gets to explore! What a great idea.
