Matt and Linda used to live across the street from each other because they couldn’t find a spot large enough for their blended family. But when they found a fixer-upper with a huge backyard they saw the potential!
That’s when they decided to put twin tiny homes, built by Alternative Living Spaces, in their backyard — one for each teen daughter! The oldest has gone to college, and their daughter’s friend rents the space now. In the future, Matt and Linda want to use the containers for their aging parents. How awesome!

Matt and Amanda met at Burning Man and soon after backpacked through South America together. After that experience, they decided to van-life it together for a few years before sharing a house with Amanda’s sister. But when 2020 came, they decided it was time to travel again — this time in a more luxurious rig.
They chose and renovated a gorgeous Airstream which they can now work from remotely as they continue traveling. It has lots of seating, they’ve added good standing-and-sitting office spaces, and all the luxury they wanted in a home on wheels. What do you think?

Josh watched his parents travel the continent with this 1954 Crown Bus which he bought from the family when he turned 15. He lived in it for some time and then as an adult got the idea to give it a total rehab and continue in his grandpa’s tracks. His then-girlfriend wasn’t too sure about the whole thing, but Carolyn stuck with him through the build and married him — so it all worked out!
Back in 2009 before there were tons of “how to” videos on YouTube, Josh figured out how to raise the roof of his skoolie about 13 inches. They also have a spa-like bathroom, two mini-fridges and plenty of comfort in their vintage rig. Pretty awesome!

Halle’s first introduction to #vanlife was actually in her Kia Soul which she used to travel the entire country for 3 months. The experience left her wanting more, and she eventually decided to jump into full-time nomadic living. She had two other rigs, including a Sprinter she shared with a former partner, and then downsized into her awesome Westfalia Vanagon!
These vintage vans were among the first, and they are always cool. She’s made some great upgrades to increase its livability and to find space for her artwork and art supplies (she sells her creations!). Right now, she funds her travels with copywriting gigs.

Back in 2014, before #vanlife was trending, this couple got a tiny caravan and traveled in it while holding a home base in a small apartment. Eventually they upgraded to a larger rig, moved into full-time vanlife, and kept exploring Europe. But their adventures didn’t end there! They got a Sprinter van, another caravan, a narrow boat, and eventually an abandoned barn in Portugal.
While they thought about just summering in Portugal, 2020 hit and pushed up their barn renovation goals. Now they are fully moved in and in the process of building garden beds and settling down with an amazing homestead. What a cool story!
