There’s a small half loft for toys or a child’s bed, and then a main loft that fits a King-sized bed. The kitchen has a stove top and a vintage-esque mini fridge. At the back of the THOW you’ll find a compact bathroom with a DIY composting toilet. Get it for $80K!

These are fantastic tiny house plans by Vina Lustado of Sol Haus Design. The home was designed for a couple with a staggering height difference—he is 6’4″, and she is only 5′ tall! As such, they needed a home with extra head clearance to make living inside comfortable for him. The extra-tall tiny home requires special permits to move but allows for 6’6″ of clearance under the lofts.

This design has a first-floor flex room that could be a twin-sized bedroom or office and a loft with plenty of space for up to a Queen-sized bed. Depending on your needs, the secondary loft could be an office or storage area. What do you think of this design?

Here’s a romantic, modern houseboat in Germany that sits on the giant Scharmützelsee Lake. You can reach it via a boardwalk, which gives you 24/7 access to the marina wash stations and bathroom. The little floating home gets a dazzling view of the sunrise each morning!

I especially love the wood-burning stove! The host provides plenty of wood, so you can stay snuggled up in bed all day and watch the waves if you want to. There’s a small kitchen area and a built-in dining space. Want to enjoy the weather? Head outside and climb the ladder to the rooftop deck!

Kelsey and Luke own almost identical dogs, although each one is a mutt! That immediately bonded the pair and after Kelsey’s car and apartment leases were up, she moved into Luke’s home — but the house seemed way too big and constricting. That led them to begin searching for a van.

However, they found vans were too tiny for four of them, and skoolies were too big. The short bus was a perfect “Goldilocks” option for them. Overall they spent about $22K on the bus and the conversion, which includes a convertible bed in the back and a rooftop deck on top to give them a spot to have “alone time” when needed.

One of the lofts has a full wall to keep it private, and the gooseneck bedroom has a door to keep it closed off from the rest of the living area.

Summer is an incredible woman who has been living tiny for years! She started off in a 1969 Shasta that she converted, and then other small nomadic spaces like an RV and a van. Eventually, she purchased this great 1970s A-frame cabin.

It needed a lot of help and a lot of paint, and after a year of renovations, she moved in! We got the chance to interview her about her tiny life below, so please enjoy reading her story.

Below, Kevin and Elizabeth give us a look inside the 420-square-foot Montana cabin they built for just $7,000 — yes, really. Even though the project came together before the lumber-price madness of 2020, that number is still wild for what they pulled off. This little guest cabin feels cozy, finished, and downright welcoming.

They kept costs low by getting creative: using around 40% reclaimed materials, hunting for second-hand finds, and accepting a few generous hand-me-downs from friends and family. Inside, you get everything you need — a kitchen, bathroom, loft bedroom, and even a comfy spot to eat at the butcher-block bar. It’s the kind of place you could stay for a weekend… or never want to leave.
