In Manchester, Vermont, one of our Tiny House Talk readers, Bernard, has an amazing off-grid tiny cabin on three beautiful acres with mountain views. He’s been living there since 2007, but now the home is for sale.
It’s permitted/approved for a 4-bedroom home, with a septic system and leech field in place, but you could always just enjoy living off-grid in the little cabin already there.
The rest of the lot is wooded and close to skiing and hiking opportunities. It’s listed on Zillow if you want to buy it!

Quaint? How about bare (as in down to the studs).. Vermont? Nothing resembling insulation? I take it the idea is pay for the land and rebuilt or tear down what’s there. Homey furniture? lol. sorry.. but, come on. lol.
Lovely lot, but doubt you will see any mountains over the trees. Pretty setting for someone with the money to do the total rehab, rebuild.
Or just for people who enjoy being out in nature… Previous owner used it as a weekend getaway. Some people like going back to the old ways of living, at least for a vacation or glamping and don’t necessarily need it for the whole year…
Taking a break from modern day stressful life…
