Round/octagonal buildings always inspire me, and this Mountain Octagon in Virginia is no exception! The vacation home has two large decks overlooking the mountains and tons of windows all the way around to give you views from the indoors as well.
One side of the octagon has a large open floor plan with the living, dining and kitchen that includes everything plus a dishwasher! There’s a bedroom, two bathrooms, and barbecue area outdoors.

I would buy this house in a heartbeat! Small, views, and so incredibly unusual. Absolutely nothing I would change.
Great looking yurt! Any chance to see floorplan? Thanks.
looks wonderful – they advertise 2 bathrooms but only show 1 bedroom – how many can it sleep I wonder? Is the wood stove on the one floor sufficient to heat both floors?
Pretty sure Yurt is just one level, stairs are access to the lower deck. Note the roof/ceiling in all the interior photos. Lower level would be flat as floor platform would then be the ceiling below but nothing shown there but deck area… So only upper space needs to be warmed and that size stove should be plenty as long as it’s run long enough but you should be able put large enough log pieces to last many hours…
This house is perfect for my sister and me. Are there plans available? All but the circular stairs. Rest is gorgeous. Live the windows, the covered outdoor porch. It has the “C” factor. (Cute factor)
It’s an Airbnb so I’m not sure about plans. That said, you could contact the hosts via Airbnb and inquire!
@Linda, if you check the fifth picture down–the one with the armless couch and the “cowhide” cover (at least that’s the way it looks to me)–you’ll see a vent to the left of the couch. Looks like a furnace vent to me.
The Airbnb listing says there’s only one bedroom with a queen bed, and a sofa bed and air mattress in the common areas.
I love the wood burning stove, specifically the gold accents. The views due to all of the windows must be stunning. Nice place to stay for a few days, but I wouldn’t want to have to clean all of those windows, nor worry about damage from hail. Unless all of the windows have blinds, the light at night would attract quite a number of bugs during the warmer months.
Nicely done! Very pretty and has great views.
