Kloosterzande Tiny Home in the Netherlands
The Dutch Doors give you the ability to allow in a breeze while keeping your entry secure from any unwanted roommates (rodents).
Inside you’ll find an ultra-cozy interior.
A place to dine, read, and relax.
Floor pillows and an armchair under the staircase.
A nice place to relax and maybe even have a stretch.
Beautiful looking hardwood floors.
The kitchenette is accented with a pink wall. I love this.
A shiny black door leads you to the bathroom.
How do you like the tile work in this bathroom?
Kitchennette with a view…
The view…
The upstairs loft offers a cozy sleeping nook.
Not a lot of space, but very spacious when compared to many THOW lofts, right?
There’s even a little nook to hang your clothes up in the loft…
Nice little shelf for books and plants…
Instant hot water heater mounted in the kitchen…
Accent wall painted black in the living area.
Relaxing views…
Quant tiny cottage on a foundation… why don’t they build them like this anymore?
What do you think of the Kloosterzande Tiny Cottage? Would you build a cottage kind of like this? Why or why not?

Love the house!
Beautiful in proportion and simplicity. Lovely details without fussy additions.
I love half-doors, as we call them in Ireland. Not only as exterior door to keep out the mice and chickens and wandering dogs, and as a friendly-enough place to greet the stranger at the door, and keep a pet dog inside, but also as interior doors to keep a child in a safe area under some supervision, or separate a pet dog from activities elsewhere in the house, but again under some supervision (that goes both ways
They take only a little extra material and construction, and with thought can be made very weather-tight. Quite nice ones can be bought, though they can be expensive. But they bring so much human value and convenience that they should be much more common.
My parents just installed one in their cottage. I’m quite jealous! They’re so cute.
That is perfect! I want one!
Wow, a really beautiful cottage in a romantic setting. I love the Nederlands, being there a few times myself.
Oh I’d love to go someday!
I love under the stairs reading spots as well. However, you either need to enclose them or make sure people don’t wear their shoes in the house. Nothing ruins a good read than stuff dropping all over you.
That’s a good point!
You should Natalie, they are simply wonderful!
Hah… half doors won’t stop mice, or any rodents for that matter, from finding a way in. Last time I looked mice could still climb up walls and, by extension, doors.
Does anyone know the square footage or exterior dimensions.
Love the simplicity and the design. Would enjoy a place like this to live in. Location is gorgeous….hope no problem with flooding in the area….what a gorgeous view!!!
Went to Holland a few years ago as part of my lifelong dream vacation. A most beautiful place with the friendliest people. As mentioned, the flooding concerns are very real. As to the half door, all I can think of is Mister Ed sticking his head thru the top half and calling out “Wilburrrrrr!”.
